The 30th International Conference grouping the National Societies, their International Federation, the ICRC and the 194 States party to the Geneva Conventions, will take place on 26 to 30 November 2007, in Geneva, at the International Conference Center (CICG).![]() Training Course in International Humanitarian Law for Governmental Personnel and NGO Professionals ![]() Geneva, Switzerland, 27 - 31 August 2007 The course offers a basic knowledge in International Humanitarian Law (IHL) with frequent references to its practical application, which will enable course participants to make use of the relevant legal texts and apply IHL in their work. In addition to IHL, relevant aspects of Human Rights Law and International Criminal Law will be covered.Annual Summer courses on international humanitarian law Warsaw, Poland, 2 – 12 July 2007; Modane, France, 3 – 12 September 2007 The ICRC's annual Summer courses on international humanitarian law provide a comprehensive introduction to the subject through a combination of lectures and case studies.Advanced Training on International Humanitarian Law Cambridge, Massachussets, USA: 16-20 July 2007; Brussels, Belgium: 10-14 September 2007 The ICRC and the Harvard Program on Humanitarian Policy and Conflict Research will be hosting an advanced training course on international humanitarian law (IHL) for mid-career professionals concerned with the role of IHL in the work of governments, international organisations and humanitarian non-governmental organisations operating in conflict zones. Senior Workshop on International Rules governing Military Operations (SWIRMO) Geneva, 6-17 August 2007 ICRC and Swiss Army are hosting a military course on law of armed conflict. Senior officers from 60 countries around the world have been invited to a two-week workshop which seeks to strengthen efforts to integrate the law of armed conflict into military doctrine and operating procedures.Doctors working in prison: human rights and ethical dilemmas ![]() Online course
Many of those held in prisons around the world do not receive adequate medical care. Through ethnographic objects and photographic records, it presents the historical and cultural context in which the events took place and reviews the circumstances which allowed the Khmer Rouge to take power in April 1975. |
