Netscape Version 6.0
Click on the video tutorials below to learn how to erase local remnants of your browsing activities that remain on your computer even when you are offline. Each of the video illustrations is accompanied by step-by-step instructions in text as reference.
Clear History & Location Bar
History: This video tutorial shows you how to erase or "clear" your history folder that contains your "history" of recently visited sites. You can also clear you location bar. Clearing the location bar erases the list of Web addresses in the "Address" pull down bar. You can view your history by clicking on the History icon in your browser. Clearing your history file and location will prevent those who share your computer from viewing where you have recently traveled. | |

Clear Cache
Cache: The video tutorial also shows you how to delete your "Cache" -- otherwise known as "Temporary Internet Files." The cache file contains images and text of many of the Web sites you recently visited. Netscape has two different caches, and it is important to clear both. "Memory Cache" are the most recent cached items and "Disk Cache" are items that are more permanently stored items. Like your history file, these cache files reflect your browsing history and deleting these files will prevent others, with whom you share your computer, from seeing these files on your computer. |
