Dedicated to those hearty individuals who love the winter and who enjoy getting out on the lake and spending a day with their friends and families in a fishing environment in which the comorady of the shanty town, of standing by the fire, of offering a bowl of chili or some hot chocolate or coffee to fishing neighbors, and swapping stories, is as much fun as the fishing itself.

The UP of Michigan has excellent ice fishing opportunties for a variety of species. Walleyes are best known in the big lakes; Little and Big Bays de Noc, Lake Gogebic, Manistique Lakes, Lake Independence, and many others. Large Northern Pike can be found through the ice on any of the same lakes plus numerous smaller lakes and reserviors. Perch and Blue Gills also inhabit several inland lakes as well. We have several trout lakes filled with Rainbows, Brook Trout, Browns, Splake and Lake Trout. And on the severals bays on Lake Superior, Michigan and Huron you can target and catch Lake Trout, Whitefish and Burbot.

The Upper Peninsula of Michigan is one of the few areas of the United States where our winters are always cold enough to enure that we have ice that is thick enough to fish every winter and where you can be assured that your winter vacation will not be affected by warm weather and poor conditions. You can count on having ice and snow up here.
