I think that's a great idea and surprised not to see any comments made on this thread.

The legal ramifications of using another authors copyright material without the authors permission is simply not worth it. I would seek the authors permission, as well as including any pertinent information and/or links the author instructed as conditions for the usage of their material.

Those are some great pointers. I also use "confirm your interest" in all of our mailings. Doing this has actually expanded our readership into other areas of interests by always keeping this in our campaigns.

I would take an email campaign you created and forward it to the new email address with a note sent prior from my personal email account about my going to forward this email campaign. That way you can encourage them to signup for future mailings from you on their own accord from that forwarded email campaign. Smile

I keep them on our list until they opt-out. I also send each mail with an 'update your interest' reminder to ensure that they can recall us if a long duration has elapsed between mailings for their selected interests. All mails we send always include our logo image in the header ... and that generally helps remind them of 'who we are' and helps keep the opt-out and spam reports down.

I have found that if we replace the word 'free' with the word 'our compliments' that the open rate increased significantly in comparison.

Hmmm ... I've always liked the smell of 'Old Spice' aftershave lotion. I would bet that if you had a soap that smelled like that it would sell decent ... what do you think?
