September 15 - October 15
Communities are Encouraged to Focus on
Child Safety
Read
the news release.
Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to embrace diversity. It is a time
to reflect on our past and to look to our future—the children.
That’s why NCMEC wants to help parents, guardians, and communities
keep them safer.
NCMEC reminds parents and guardians
that it offers a broad range of child protection resources in Spanish,
including publications, safety
tips, and assistance via telephone.
Nearly 800,000 children are reported missing to law enforcement each
year. One in five are Hispanic.1 But, by working together
we can help reduce the incidents of missing and exploited children in
Hispanic communities across the United States.
The commitment to help our children transcends ethnicity, reflects American
spirit, and is nobly exemplified in the Hispanic community. During Hispanic
Heritage Month, get involved with children’s safety.
