Oregon Caves National Monument
Volunteer

Volunteers share many of the same responsibilities at Oregon Caves as do paid interpreters. Volunteers also have unique opportunities to explore parts of the cave not on the tour route and contribute to the Resource Management staff by researching the cave.

Volunteer positions are categorized under the following divisions which will help you get an idea of your responsibilities in each assignment.

  1. Interpretation - CBE or Park Guide
  2. Resource Management
  3. Maintenance

Did You Know?
The furniture in the historic Oregon Caves Lodge was custom made by the Mason Manufacturing Company. The furniture has hand painted designs and often used iron strapping, and leather in its construction. The furniture was branded with a small horse shoe design, the icon of the company.
