President Bush Designates National Disability Employment Awareness Month, October 1-October 31, 2007
(Washington, D.C.) The theme for 2007 is Workers with Disabilities: Talent for a Winning Team . The President reminds us that "It is important that we continue to expand…opportunities for Americans with disabilities by eliminating the barriers and false perceptions that hinder them from joining the workforce." Director Mary Bomar and the National Park Service are "totally committed to improving the recruitment, hiring, development and retention of individuals with disabilities at all levels and locations. "We are also committed to ensuring that all of our park sites are accessible and accommodating to all individuals with disabilities."
The President of the United States Proclaims September 15 – October 15, 2007, Hispanic Heritage Month
(Washington, D.C.) – The Department of the Interior and National Park Service join the Nation in observing Hispanic Heritage Month. “During the observances we honor the accomplishments of Hispanic Americans and recognize their extraordinary contributions to America” The national theme for this year is: Hispanic Americans: Making a Positive Impact on American Society.”
