Create 1-Step Bibliographies in
Microsoft
Word and Corel WordPerfect |
|
If you use Microsoft Word for Windows or Macintosh or WordPerfect for Windows, you
can take advantage
of the EndNote Add-in (included in the EndNote program). The Add-in
integrates EndNote seamlessly into your word processor so you can
accomplish all of your
bibliographic tasks from within Word or WordPerfect. Here are the benefits of the
Add-in:
- Access EndNote commands from your word processor's Tools menu.
- Create a bibliography in one step.
- Keep track of only one document.
- Revise your document as many times as you need. The Add-in will update the
citations and
bibliography.
|
| Once the EndNote Add-in is installed, EndNote commands will appear under Word's or
WordPerfect's
Tools menu. For example, to create a bibliography, simply select Format
Bibliography
from your word processor's Tools menu. |
|
When you are writing a paper, you can call up your EndNote library and find the
references that you
wish to cite. All you need to do is select the reference and choose Insert
Citation(s) from
the Tools menu. EndNote will insert a temporary marker for that citation.
|
|
At any point you can format your paper by selecting a bibliographic style and
choosing Format
Bibliography from the Tools menu. The Add-in will automatically format
the in-text
citations and create a bibliography instantly.
Since there is a dynamic link between EndNote and your word processor, the EndNote
Add-in has no
problem with changes or revisions that you've made to the document. You can select
another
bibliographic style or add or delete citations. Each time you choose Format
Bibliography, the
EndNote Add-in will automatically update your citations and bibliography. You
won't end up with
duplicate documents or have to worry about which document is the original and
which is the formatted
copy.
The EndNote Add-in can also format citations in your word processor's footnotes
and endnotes as
regular in-text citations, or as full references. Citations formatted as full
references in Word's or
WordPerfect's footnotes/endnotes can even use a different style
than the
bibliography does! You also have the option of including the references in your
footnotes/endnotes in
the bibliography as well.
