FOR IMMEDIATE
RELEASE
Carlsbad, CA, USA - August 29, 2005—Today,
Thomson ResearchSoft (www.researchsoft.com),
a business of The Thomson Corporation, announces the immediate
availability of EndNote® 9 for Mac® OS X, the bibliographic
management software used by millions of researchers, librarians and
students worldwide. EndNote is well known for introducing useful
features such as the ability to search online bibliographic
databases, organize references and images, and create instant
bibliographies. EndNote 9 increases connectivity to data sources
worldwide, offers enhanced performance, and includes EndNote
libraries in Spotlight for Mac OS X Tiger searches.
“We are pleased to provide EndNote 9 for our Macintosh users,
who will enjoy the ability to search EndNote libraries using
Spotlight for Mac OS X Tiger,” said David L. Kochalko, president,
Thomson ResearchSoft. “In addition, users will find improved
performance and expanded Unicode, making EndNote a valuable product
for researchers worldwide.”
Increased Connectivity and Expanded Unicode Support
EndNote 9 is among the first academic tools to support the new
desktop search technology, Spotlight. In a single Spotlight search,
users can locate EndNote references as well as other files on their
Mac system. Using EndNote 9 with enhanced Unicode support,
researchers and scholars can import, export, cite references and
create bibliographies for their papers in any language. Users can
connect to native language libraries worldwide with expanded record
syntax and text encoding.
Enhanced
Performance and Library Sharing
New benchmarks optimize performance in EndNote 9 for sorting,
importing and exporting large reference libraries. EndNote 9 offers
easy portability of customized reference field and type information
for collaboration with colleagues. These new features along with
other enhancements make EndNote the bibliographic solution for the
entire spectrum of international users—from students to professional
researchers.
