CONSTITUENTS
Constituent Web Sites
Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) constituents are the local body of AGD members that are state, provincial, or military-based. The AGD is comprised of 62 constituents and the AGD constituent Web sites are intended to display the benefits of AGD membership on a local level. The Web sites are also used as a tool to educate the public and consumer about the AGD and about how its serves its members to accomplish the goals and objectives of the organization.
Constituents by Region
The AGD is made up of 20 regions comprised of 62 constituents. The role of an AGD constituent is to be the local/provincial communication link between the AGD and its members. AGD constituent workings will have local and organizational benefits. Programs and events administered on the local/provincial level within these regions should assist AGD members to achieve their professional and educational goals.
Regional Directors
The regional director is both a regional and national position. Therefore, the regional director receives national direction and responsibilities as well as responsibilities originating from and directed to the constituents. Accordingly, the regional director represents the national organization to local members, encourages local input to AGD Headquarters, and works to make the local organization as effective and active as possible.
Constituent Leader Duties
AGD constituents are managed and led by volunteer members and designated hired constituent staff who give their time, talents, and efforts for the betterment of the organization. While AGD Headquarters works towards achieving its core purpose, many of the goals are most effectively accomplished on the state and provincial level. The AGD supports its constituent leaders in carrying out local activities by providing a variety of resources. This section contains helpful reference materials, tools, and reports that are of use to constituent leaders to help them to perform optimally within their specific volunteer role.

Whether you are a new or seasoned AGD constituent leader, the Constituent Leader Services section contains valuable information to assist in all areas of constituent activity.
