Continuing Education (CE) Opportunities

The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) and its members are dedicated to improving patient care through lifelong learning. That dedication is supported by the following programs that assist AGD members in achieving their professional and educational goals.

AGD Annual Meeting & Exhibits
The Annual Meeting & Exhibits offers the most up-to-date and practical continuing dental education (CE) available anywhere. With lectures and hands-on courses available, you will learn tips and techniques that can be applied as soon as you get back to the office. The AGD also offers a variety of educational opportunities for your staff.

Self-Instruction: The Self-Instruction program (formerly known as DART) is featured in the AGD’s bimonthly journal, General Dentistry. Each issue features three exercises, each worth two CE credits. You can use these credits toward relicensure (where self-examination credits are accepted), AGD membership maintenance, or the Fellowship (FAGD) award. Online CE
The AGD and GC America have partnered to offer Web-based CE free to AGD members. GC America makes this high-quality, free online CE possible through a generous grant to the AGD Foundation. For more information about the courses available, click here Online CE.

AGD Alliance CE Programs
The AGD and its corporate alliance partners have teamed together to make available high-quality CE and other member benefits a reality through generous grants to the AGD Foundation. For more information on the courses available, click here Alliance CE Programs

AGD MasterTrack Programs
Members will be provided with a list of Mastership study programs that are currently available. Courses offered through this program provide a regular course of study leading to Mastership. Some invite enrollment in isolated courses and some require participation for a year at a time or for the full program. CDE Source
CDE Source is an online listing of courses that are Program Accepted Continuing Education (PACE)- and Continuing Education Recognition Program (CERP)-approved. All of the courses found in the listing are good toward both Fellowship and Mastership. For more information on the courses available, click here.

Find a Provider
PACE-approved CE providers have met 14 standards of quality assurance for CE you can trust. PACE-approved CE providers are accepted by the AGD for Fellowship/Mastership credit. For more information on this program, click here.

Fellowship Study Guide
To help prepare for the Fellowship Exam, use the FAGD Exam Study Guide—a miniature version of the exam with explanations of the answers and references. Receive 25 hours of CE credit by completing and submitting the Study Guide answer sheet. To order the Fellowship Study Guide, click here.

Questions concerning the Fellowship Exam, Study Guide, or preparing for the exam? The AGD has recently created a new forum called the Fellowship Exam Study Buddy forum. This forum has been designed for those candidates preparing for the Fellowship Exam so that they can exchange information on study tips, resource materials, or simply ask a question. Self-Assessment Quizzes (non-credit)
