During your visit to the Monument, please remember:

  • Do not feed the wildlife.
  • Stay on marked trails.
  • Pets are allowed only on paved roads and parking areas.
  • Camping and fires are not permitted on the Monument.
  • Due to high fire danger, smoking is not permitted on any of the trails.
  • Hunting, trapping, and/or the possession of weapons or firearms are prohibited.
  • If you are intoxicated you may be denied access to the cave.
This snail was named after an employee of Oregon Cave, not because he was slow but because he wrote the technical description of the snail.  

Did You Know?
There is a snail that lives on the marble rock outcrops of Oregon Caves that has adapted to use the calcium from the rock to make its shell.
