Genesys is a leading provider of web conferencing services, with a worldwide client base that includes over 200 of the Fortune Global 500. When they first contacted VKI Studios in early 2006, however, Genesys's search engine rankings did not accurately reflect their prominent market position.
In March, 2006, Genesys ranked at near the bottom of the first page or top of the second page for their five most important search terms. Though these rankings were certainly respectable, both VKI and Genesys realized that to maintain leadership in the hotly competitive online conferencing market, Genesys would have to improve their search engine visibility.
Our first step was to ensure that Genesys was accurately listed on all appropriate directories. As the web conferencing market is by its very nature international in scope, foreign-language directories were also a focus.
The next step involved all aspects of on-page optimization. In particular, we went through every page of the Genesys website and optimized content in terms of:

Finally, VKI engaged in an aggressive link-building campaign which greatly increased the number of quality, relevant incoming links pointing to the Genesys website.

The strategy paid off even faster and more effectively than VKI had predicted. Within three months of implementing their SEO campaign, Genesys's search engine rankings increased noticeably. By December of 2006, the improvements were dramatic.
Even better, the improved search engine rankings resulted in significantly increased traffic to the Genesys website: between March, 2006 and year-end, traffic increased by 26%.
