June 2, 2005 - The 2006 Dodge Charger
Some things are better the second time around. The Dodge Charge may prove to be much better. First introduced in 1966 the Dodge Charger was built for speed and began to build its reputation by winning a NASCAR championship. The 1968 model really put the Charger on the map with a cool new look, heavy duty brakes and suspension, and the 440 Magnum engine. The 2006 Charger looks to be a hit with muscle car lovers.
Brutal Power
Brutal Power is how Dodge describes the new 6.1 liter Hemi V8. Packing a whopping 425 horsepower the new Charger should have no problem pinning you to your seat. Dodge is also offering a 5.7 liter V8 and a 3.5 liter v6 - for those worried about economy. Even the V6 delivers 250 horsepower and has an aluminum block. Sitting in traffic will be frustrating in the 06 Charger.

Cool Inside
Inside the new Charger the interior is slick and modern looking. There are four models of the 2006 Dodge Charger, the Daytona R/T, the R/T, the SXT, and the SE. The Daytona model is the big boy with the 5.7 liter V8 and is only available in very visible yellow or orange. The interior is leather, which is optional on the lower priced models. Other cool options include a GPS navigation system, 18-inch aluminum wheels, and a Sirius Satellite radio.
