On this trip we paddle the shoreline of Caines Head State Recreation
Area where encounters with sea otters, seabirds, bald eagles and leaping
salmon are common. Paddle your tandem kayak a short way up Tonsina Creek when the tide
is high to see thousands of spawning salmon. We invite you to get a
taste of Alaska adventure on our guided 3 hour and full day sea kayaking
tours.

Bay 3 Hour Sea Kayaking Tours:
If you want to experience sea kayaking
in this beautiful setting but have limited time while vacationing in
Seward, our 3 hour guided tours are a great introduction to sea kayaking. We use stable and efficient tandem (two person) kayaks allowing both novices and aspiring experts to paddle comfortably.
We have three times for you to choose from.
The 9AM to 12 noon trip: Start
your day with a morning paddle. Mornings are often calm, making this
a favorite time for families. Children 8 and up are welcome to paddle
with an adult in one of our two person kayaks.
The
1PM to 4PM trip: A delightful way to spend the
afternoon. Afternoons in Resurrection Bay tend to be a little windier, making
this a more active paddle. Groups will small children are encouraged to paddle the morning and afternoon trips. Children 12 and up are welcome to padddle with an adult in one of our two person kayaks.
The
6PM to 9PM trip: Enjoy the peacefulness of an
Alaskan evening while kayaking in the land of the midnight sun. This
tour and time slot is another excellent option for a family seeking
to share some adventure with their children. Children 8 and up are welcome to paddle with and adult in our two person kayaks.
Price:
$65 per person + tax (gratuities not included)
Daily departures: 5.17-9.7 for the morning and afternoon tours, 5.17-8.17 for the evening departure.

Our Seward kayaking tours include kayaking instruction
and equipment, use of rubber boots, and dry bags. You do not need to
have prior paddling experience. We paddle in very stable two person kayaks. Sunny Cove guides are excellent instructors
who enjoy introducing you to kayaking and the natural wonders of the
area. Our three-hour tours usually follow the shoreline to Tonsina Creek,
a salmon stream. We often encounter sea otters, sea lions, numerous
sea birds and salmon. In late July through August it's possible at high
tide to see thousands of spawning salmon by paddling a short way up
Tonsina Creek. Check in at our Lowell Point shed 10 minutes before the
tour time.

Bay Sea Kayak Day Trip: 8:00 AM- 4:00PM:
Experience
the beauty of Resurrection
Bay and its plentiful marine life on our full day Seward sea kayaking
excursion from Lowell Point to Caines Head State Recreation Area. Enjoy
a beachside lunch and a hike up to a waterfall or if weather and time
permits to a site overlooking Resurrection Bay. We have several lunch
choices for you so make sure you let us know your preference when signing
up for the tour.
Schedule:
Check in 7:50 AM at Lowell Point for outfitting
and kayaking instruction
Guided paddle of the shoreline of Caines Head State Recreation
Area, viewing the mountain and hanging glacier vistas.
Enjoy an ocean side lunch prior to hiking to a waterfall or
up to Fort McGilvray for an overview of Resurrection Bay
Paddle back to Lowell Point arriving around 4:00 PM.
Minimum participation age is 12 years. This is our most active
day tour and can require up to 12 miles of paddling and up to 5 miles
of hiking.
