The Costa Rica fishing season Quepos is the center of fishing in the Central Pacific Region. More than 40 professionally equipped boats in the 27-46 foot range available for Charter in Quepos. Billfish are the favored species targeted of most visiting anglers and they are seldom disappointed from December through April as the peak fishing season is in full swing. However Sailfish are often taken throughout the entire year. Marlin are primarily caught in September through November but also in May.Occasional Blue Marlin and rare black Marlin are likely to be found anytime during the year although generally further out than the Sailfish. Tuna are found throughout the year generally in the 15 pound weight however some are over 200 pounds and a fair range over 100 pounds. Dorado are taken on a regular basis throughout the year however they tend to be over abundant late May when the rivers start to flow heavily. Roosterfish are always a great catch and can be found inshore on the mouths of the rivers where snook can be found and the rocky drop offs just around the corner from Quepos.
