This site is due to go live on Monday 9/3, but I am currently using StatCounter on http://www.tapcostore.com. I would not think of going live with the new site without StatCounter on it. It is invalueable. I am constantly monitoring (for the current site) the stats (hourly) to see where people are coming from, how that got here and what are they looking at. These stats will be particularly helpful on the new site as I set up marketing strategies.
August 30th, 2007 at 5:54 pm
I have my site up, but who will see it? StatCounter surely helped me answer that and in a hurry. With all the details it gives about my visitors I was able to get the information displayed on my site relevant to what my visitors are searching for on a day to day basis.
Even though I can see which browser they used, and which region of the globe they came in from, plus numerous other vital search statistics, the ones I used most were the keyphrases used to find my site.
Knowing what my visitors are looking for helps me hone my content making my site more relevant in search queries for my visitors. This not only helps my visitors, it helps me to get my message out and it helps me stay ahead of my competion in search engine results placement (SERPS) when my industry key word patterns my visitors use to find me start changing. This is easy for me to follow checking my stat counter stats at least once evey day.
When I first began business online 4 years ago, StatCounter was there with the best stat counter available online with the free basic counter. The expanded paid stat counter is even more revealing and can give insights about visitors I have never dreamed of. Combine that with the online forum and technical help 24/7/365 that surpasses all expectations and you have a huge advantage over your online competitors.
Thanks StatCounter Team.

Our website has alot of free gardening information. I needed a way to check how many vistitors actually were looking for this information.
http://www.guzmansgreenhouse.com
Ahhh….Statcounter.com When I first started our website there were alot of pay and free statistical programs. But when I saw what statcounter could do for us I stopped looking.
It told me where my vistitors were coming from, what city, state and country. Which webpages got the most hits, how long they stayed when the re-visited and much more…and to top it off it is FREE.
I check my stats several times a day…sometimes I think statcounter hosting server will ban me because of “overload queries”.
I am in the process if developing a new website and one of the first things I will do is install the statcounter code.

I absolutely love statcounter and refer it to many people.
http://www.fleurdelisfashions.com is an online retail store offering fleur de lis jewelry, handbags, accessories, and apparel at affordable prices.
* What stats do you look at most often and why?
I look at the visitor path stats the most because it allows me to figure out how the user found our site. It can also tell me if certain advertising dollars have been used effectively. The other stat I use most frequently is recent keyword activity. This tells me exact key words or key word phrases used to find our site.
* How do the stats help you?
The stats help me to know if I am using correct keywords for seo and organic or paid hits I am getting from the search engines.
* How often do you check your stats?
Several times a day, sometimes it’s addictive!
Thanks,
Rene

http://www.qualibuy.com - is a website that offers quality cheap silver jewelry and brand name colognes/perfumes/aftershaves for men and women at low discounted price. Our customers can shop for genuine quality and save anywhere between 10% to over 40% off retail price.
* How using StatCounter has helped improve your business, specifically:
- I love statcounter because the interface is awesome and it delivers to-the-point information that I care about. I also have an account with Google Analytic but I hardly check it because statcounter gives me everything I need.
* What stats do you look at most often and why?
- I like the “recent keywords activities”, the “recent pageload”, “browser” and “systems stats”
* How do the stats help you?
- They together will tell me how many hits we get, where our customers are coming from, how did they find us, and how our website display on their systems.
* How often do you check your stats?
- More than 5 times a day.

StatCounter Team:
Folks,
It’s really great to hear how StatCounter is helping you all to grow and improve your online businesses. That is the very reason why StatCounter was set up in the first place!
Even though we’ll only be able to put one or two people forward for this interview, we would very much like to include some of your comments in our feedback section. We might get in touch with you about this in the next few weeks.
Thanks!

TheBestStoreDeals.com is a “one stop shop” for pretty much anything you could need to purchase…from vacations to groceries. We try to find the best prices out there for the consumer.
What stats do you look at most often and why?
Visitor Paths…I check it everyday…I can see if people did a search to find me…and where in the search engines my site came up in the searches….I love that!
How do the stats help you? I can see what people are looking for and gear more towards those items..
How often do you check your stats? Daily…sometimes more than once, twice, five times :o)
Thank you!

* How using StatCounter has helped improve your business, specifically:
All of our business right now comes from Search Engine placement. Statcounter helps us decide which keywords are working or not on our sites: http://www.nubra.net and http://www.nu-bra.com to name a few.
* What stats do you look at most often and why?
I like the recent keywords activities, the “recent came from” features. It tells me if we are getting hits on Ads from other sites.
* How do the stats help you?
They tell me where hits are coming from, if we are on target with the keywords. By comparing hits from one store site to the other, it helps us tweak the keywords missing on one or the other store.
* How often do you check your stats?
At least twice a day, or minimum of once a week just to see how much traffic against sales coming in to our store.
Thanks a million!

I run a number of “useful information” pages on my professional site. My Skype page (http://www.HL7.com.au/Skype.htm) is very popular.
* How using StatCounter has helped improve my business:
StatCounter gives me information on my site visually summarized but also I can drill down to all the technical detail. The information is MUCH more useful than Google Analytics…
* What stats do you look at most often and why?
- The summaries - then “Recent Pageload Activity” and “Recent Keyword Activity”.
* How do the stats help you?
- They show me how many visitors, where they are coming from and what they were asking when they found my site.
* How often do you check your stats?
- I always review the e-mailed weekly summary of all my sites. When I am making critical changes, I check the detail hourly…
* What could make StatCounter even better?
Nothing really - keep the basic mode free and make some visual tweaks to the displays (I LOVE pie charts

I think of my little shop, http://www.shopdrops.com as that enchanting neighborhood shop on the web. It is a home-made, home-cooked, home-based business with all the delightful flavors of a small shop often found in street corners of anybody’s neighborhood. Shopdrops.Com offers quality goods for the family, home, garden and for the very important person who does almost all the shopping at home.
StatCounter has helped a lot in improving my home-business. Statcounter gives me real time statistics on who is visiting, where a visitor is coming from, the length of time spent on the site, the pages visited and the search engine who is best in referrals.
I love the ‘Recent Visitor Activity’ and the Recent Keyword Activity. Why? The former shows what my visitors are up to - what particular products they looked at, where they are located, which page they landed on and which page they exited from. The latter tells me which search words are popularly used and which search engine is used the most.
I value the stats from statcounter. The stats I get motivate me to improve my site building skills, challenge me to better my position in the SERPS and simply open my eyes to my weaknesses and flaws as a site-builder-owner.
I love Statcounter. It is the loyal companion to my site. Truth is, it’s the first thing I do in the morning, last thing I do at night and every hour in between! And I am talking about both (Statcounter and my little shop)!
August 31st, 2007 at 2:01 am
I too love Statcounter. I check stats hourly to see where my visitors are coming from and what products my customers are most interested in. I personalize dog and cat collars at http://www.alphapetcollars.com and check “recent visitor activity” as well as “visitors path” most often.

I am a website designer and have used StatCounter for the past few years. I place a Statcounter on EVERY website that I design.
By using Statcounter each customer can evaluate which advertising method may be working better than others, as well as where their primary audience is coming from, etc. I also use it to evaluate how well certain content may be doing and perhaps what may need to be tweaked.
The Statcounter quite honestly is invaluable and I have not looked at another provider of this service since I came across you!
I always recommend Statcounter to others who inquire of ways to discover how much traffic their site may be receiving.
I have several “main” clients that I perform SEO work for and I normally at least check their stats on a daily basis. This is in addition to the clients also checking their own stats for themselves.
Again, great service!

I use the StatCounters to keep track of how may folks have looked at our puppy pictures when we have puppies up for sale. It really helps us gauge how effective the site has been, Its been very effective. I love the tie-in with Google maps. I use Firefox with the auto-reloader plug-in and keep it up in different tabs all the time to keep up to the minute whats happening..
I look at the visitor path and usually , recent page loads, and have them all set to auto-reload every minute. then, once in a while I look at more detailed info. Thanks for a great service !!!! If you want to call and interview me, would love to talk to you..

I am a work-at-home mom with an online retail site, Good for the Kids http://www.goodforthekids.com, offering products for children and women. I focus on products that are unique and hard-to-find. Together with designers, I have developed my site to cater to the needs of my customers whom are primarily mothers to young children.
StatCounter has helped me tremendously in the aspect of understanding my customers. As soon as I find that someone has posted in a blog or made a comment somewhere online from the information provided in StatCounter, I can go immediately and learn about the potential customers. Many times, I offer coupon codes to the customers on the discussion board or blog to entice them to complete their orders while they are searching for the items they are buying.
I have also used StatCounter to understand problems with my site and quickly fix the issues to gain more satisfied customers. I check the StatCounter site, specifically the Vistor Path section, numerous times a day.
I’d love to help you out in any way you need. Please contact me if I can be of assistance.

LOVE Statcounter!! I refer you all to everyone.
What stats do you look at most often and why?
I look at visitor path and page view mostly. It helps me see what the customer is looking for and how they found my site.
How often do you check your stats?
I tend to agree with everyone else, statcounter is sooo addicting! I do check hourly; sometimes even more often than that. By the way; chatting on the phone is certainly not a problem for me

I am extremely happy with StatCounter as the data of the visitors can be viewed and evaluated from different angles. And the info makes it really possible to improve the number of hits and the ranking on the http://www. I am using the free 100 hits counting, but intend to try the 1000 hits counter for a couple of months this winter. Keep up the good work. Congratulations with the awards won and thanks for making StatCounter available for free and without annoying pop ups as other counters often do.
Best regards,
Rudolf.

- A bit of information about your business
I run a small t-shirt company called Burn Suburbia Clothing that works with designers from around the world to create shirts that represent something about their city or its culture.
* What stats do you look at most often and why?
Statcounter is invaluable for my business! We rely mainly on viral marketing and publicity received from blogs, etc. As a result, Statcounter lets us know when we’re being covered somewhere new, so we look especially at what links people are clicking to reach the page.
* How do the stats help you?
It works the same way with the limited advertising we do; Statcounter is the barometer of our advertising’s success.
* How often do you check your stats?
Daily!
Thank you so much for this fine product. Feel free to get in touch if you’d like to do a phone interview; I’d be happy to help.

- A bit of information about your business
Well i have several online ventures but mainly web design, i design sites for others as well as having several of my own selling custom php scripts and i have a few article directories and link directories too.
- How using StatCounter has helped improve your business, specifically:
- What stats do you look at most often and why?
I look at the recent visitors, what pages they visit and where they came from, i use this info to check what parts of my sites are most effective, if they are leading to signups/sales etc and to check where the visitors are coming from so i can tell if my marketing efforts and search engine optimization is working, i also check the keyword stats to see what people are searching for then thye find my site and to improve my targeting.
- How do the stats help you?
The stats help me improve my sites, make pages more effective for their purpose so that visitors become customers etc, they help me judge if my marketing and advertising campaigns are working and if they are worth the money i spend on them and to see overall how many visitors i am getting compared to sales.signups etc
- How often do you check your stats?
I check my stats several times a day for over a dozen sites i run so that i can fully keep track of every aspect of my visitors activity and learn to understand them better and understand what they want, why they came etc

I love Stat counter too much and i’ve been tempted to changed few months ago ( because of the small logs ) BUT when you added the 500 entires logs i was really amazed and i decided to stay with the Statcounter big family
I’ve been blogging for many months ago and i was trying to monetize my half-million daily visitors thru Adsense but i didn’t got more than $50 per month so i’ve got a unique idea to create a unique advertising concept.
I’m selling permanent traffic redirections that sends my traffic to the advertisers sites and blogs.
I couldn’t have started my business if i was using another stats analyzing site because generally advertisers are interested with the concept but they are not sure about the ROI so by using the statcounter’s public stats they can see the live traffic stats and can drill down to get more info about the visitors. this encouraged many advertisers to buy my “retail traffic”
For me personally i check my stats 2 times a day to have precise idea on the keywords used and the biggest referrers so i can target my ad campaigns
The most helpful feature is the ip flagging because it allows me to track back the return of the my biggest advertisers so i can see what they are interested in and if there is any comment so i can improve the service.
Thanks and keep up the great work

A bit of information about your business:
http://www.showplacedirect.com features home decor, furniture and accessories for the home.
How using StatCounter has helped improve your business, specifically:
What stats do you look at most often and why?
I check the summary constantly to find out how many visitors are coming and the recent keyword activity to see what keywords are used to find my site. Being small, I rely on the traffic stats to let me know how to prioritize my time. If the traffic is high, I know I need to be available for customers and work on things that do not require as much concentration. If the stats are low, I know I can devote my time to more detailed work with minimal interruptions or step out of my office for awhile.
How do the stats help you?
Gosh, let me count the ways! First, Statcounter is simple. I have very detailed stats with my ecommerce platform and I also have Google analytics. The problem is they are very complex and I haven’t had the time to sit and learn how they work completely. With Statcounter, just a couple clicks and I have the info I need. The recent keyword activity tells me what is working. It also helps me identify trends. Using the keyword activity and popular pages information, I can decide when to run promotions. The information provided by Statcounter also helps me identify what areas I need to improve upon and what areas are not working at all.
How often do you check your stats?
Several times a day. It is not uncommon for me to bring up Statcounter and refresh the screen every 30 minutes to an hour.
Statcounter is awesome. It’s reliable and hassle free. I’ve used it for a few other websites over the years and I cannot recall ever having a single issue with Statcounter. I can’t say that about any other tool I have used. It’s perfect for people who lack the time needed to devote to analyzing their site. It’s kind of like “stats for dummies”. I find the stats on Statcounter are more reliable than the stats provided by my ecommerce solution. I always recommend Statcounter, it is an awesome tool.
September 1st, 2007 at 4:29 pm
Statcounter has helped me know whether I was getting real clicks or if it was spiders and bots clicking. I can tell by the time spent on my site when it says “0 seconds” and I recieved some fake clicks from some well known sites and statcounter helped me see that. They help me know where people are hitting my site from and what are the refferring sites. I am very pleased with the service.

* What stats do you look at most often and why?
I look at visitor activity so I can see if they went on to purchase or if they didnt and if so where did they leave.
* How do the stats help you?
I am a single mother and my budget is tight so I made this page myself. I started to notice that people would come in and leave once they got to the about me section and I could not figure out why. I went to check and my page did not update like it was suppose to. This truly saved me from losing any more business. Thnaks to Statcounter!!!!

Once a day.

Our online shop specializes in dog breed apparel and gift merchandise for 225 dog breeds. Statcounter.com has been on our site since inception. It is by far the most useful tool that any online business can utilize to grow and increase sales.
Our entire business depends on exposure through search engines and use of SEO to get our clientelle to our site. Our ability to track the entry points, and visitors paths gives us insight on which keywords are working, and also which pages need improving to gain the traffic that is vital to any online endevor.
With a dog breed gift shop, it is not just getting dog lovers as a whole to our store, but targeting 225 different groups. Each page and breed, must be examined constantly to keep up with trends for that particular visitor’s interests.
The use of statcounter to track each targeted group is an invaluable service that has enabled us to grow from invisibility, to a viable contender for the dog breed apparel market.
Thank you statcounter!

I just wanted to add that the most important feature of statcounter.com for us is the ability to follow the link of entry back to the search engine to view the placement of our site for the keyword used.
No matter how adept one thinks they are at SEO… if the keywords you think are going to generate traffic do not bring in the customers, then using statcounter to gauge your success is invaluable.
We can have the most original and best dog breed designs on the market today, but without the traffic, it is for naught.
I can not even imagine how any business online could grow without the use of a tracker. And by far, statcounter.com is the best tracker available.

StatCounter Team,
I want to thank you for making it easier for me to help my DSL and broadband customers find the high speed Internet products and providers they want online. Without StatCounter I would never have had the essential information or web tracking tools to start my online business. I’ve been a long time advocate and subscriber to StatCounter, so it’s great to see Aodhan’s idea still growing. I’d wager to say that StatCounter.com has truly become the preferred way for webmasters to “read the tea leaves” of their specific industry or niche.

My 10 sites are blogs, not retail, but ultimately there is a promotional bent. I am a writer and artist looking for exposure and feedback. It is very helpful to know how many visitors there are, which pages they view, and where they are from. I only wish there was a way to exclude our IP address from the statistics.
StatCounter Team Response:
Robert - OF COURSE you can exclude your IP address from your stats! Log in to StatCounter, click the wrench icon beside your project and go to edit settings. That’s where you’ll find the option to block IP addresses. Hope this helps!
Thanks for your support!

StatCounter has given us the tools to not only monitor all traffic activity, but has also enabled us to spot several hacking attempts against our web server!
Our daily hits have increased by 300% since this time last year, and we expect exponential leaps in the upcoming months thanks to the information that we have been able to assess from the StatCounter web site.
This has been the best solution, by far, which we have found for doing web site analysis, and we appreciate this valuable application and what it is doing for our business.
Many thanks,

And last but not least,
What stats do you look at most often and why?
When I personally log into StatCounter, my first instinct is to click the bar graph icon and view our daily hits/unique visitors/returning visitors. Second to that, I usually end up clicking “Visitor Paths” to see where our most recent visitors have been, how long they visited each page and where they were going…
The ability to see where they came from allows me to check various forums throughout the internet and see just who may be providing some valuable links to our website.
How do the stats help you?
StatCounter’s stats enable us to design our website around the customers. I’ve seen many of pages on our site have a quick bounce rate, just because of some lack of information, product image, or some general error. When dealing with several thousand pages, that’s the nature of the game. StatCounter helps us to eliminate these holes and be more productive, informative…and helps our revenue. The fact that StatCounter does all of this for free, with detailed logging for the previous 500 hits is reason enough alone for anybody to give it a try and see how they like it.
How often do you check your stats?
Everyday. Usually 3 - 5 times per day, sometimes even more. StatCounter is very lightweight and fast to load, meaning that I can check my stats when I’m in a hurry. There’s no complicated flash scripts to load. StatCounter provides a lean, mean no BS approach to serious websites out there. We’ve used other website statistic programs, and StatCounter has proven by far to be the best all-around application…and it’s free.
HelmetHead Cycle Gear™ (http://www.helmetheadcyclegear.com) is an online leader in motorcycle accessories. StatCounter has helped promote our growth for the past year and a half, and it’s a service that we depend on as we develop our website applications. StatCounter lets us know just who likes the changes, and who doesn’t.

What stats do you look at most often and why?
When I log into Statcounter I look first at the visitor path. Mainly to see if certain customers have looked at their specific images. Then I go to recent visitors to see where people have been viewing my site from. I have had hits from over 45 of the fifty states and over 50 countries from every corner of the world. I also use this to see how people are getting to my site. What Keywords they are using in their searches. Lastly I check the Keyword searches to see what specific Keywords are being used and how often. After I see the Keywords used I compare them to the Keywords on my site. I then adjust the Keywords on my site to better meet the searches which places me higher in the search engines thus getting more hits on my site.
How do the stats help you? As I have stated in the above paragraph I am able to adjust my Keywords on my site to better meet the searches which places me higher in the search engines thus getting more hits on my site. Without Statcounter I would not have the ability to do this so quickly and easily.
How often do you check your stats? I check Statcounter several times each day to watch the numbers grow. I still get a thrill watching how many times a day people are checking my sites. In just over a year my Pro Rodeo Pix website (http://www.ProRodeoPix.com) has become one of the top 5 rodeo photo websites in the world. Rodeo contestants are on the move constantly year round to compete at different rodeos around the United States. Most photographers have books they take to each rodeo for the contestants to view their photos. I post my photos online on my own shopping site allowing the contestants to view and order their photos 24/7 through the website. Because of the abilities Statcounter provides I am able to tweek the site on the fly to meet the needs of my rodeo customers who are like the wind, always on the move..
I have been using Statcounter on my other website http://www.CunninghamStudio.com for several years. This was the main reason I chose Statcounter for my Pro Rodeo Pix website.
I would love to be interviewed by Statcounter and let the world know how it works for my business.

Hi, if I’m reading this correctly, you are no longer accepting submissions for this interview, but I wanted to let you know directly how valuable statcounter has been for my small business. We’ve grown a thousand fold over the last two years and I attribute a huge percentage of that growth to statcounter. We use it to track trends, determine what consumers are thinking, and help us target our audience better. In terms of SEO, there’s no better tool than statcounter.
We check our stats probably 20 times a day. It’s that important, and that useful. So thank you a thousand times for this wonderful service!!!

StatCounter has been a big part of our online community. While not specifically “retail” in nature, our church’s website, http://westwoodchurchofgod.org/ as well as my own personal blog, http://soulscapenet.blogspot.com/ both attempt to reach as many people as possible. As a pastor, “advertisements” for my church have paid off in new members and being able to offer outreach and support. My personal blog is able to reach people all around the world and, as a spiritual leader, it is important to me to know how many people are visiting, from where, and what they’re looking for on the sites.
StatCounter has filled that need in ways beyond expectation. I check my statistics, visitor paths, locations, and other stats several times a day. By being able to see their geographic location as well as what (if any) search terms have been used to link to our site, I have been better equipped to tailor our content to meet the needs and desires of our visitors, and target specific audiences with what I feel is relevant information.
Am I selling a product? I guess it depends on how you look at it. While I am not literally “selliing” anything, the personal, professional and spiritual dividends have been wonderful, and I truthfully say that, without StatCounter as a part of my sites, the success we’ve seen would not have been possible.
Thanks to all at StatCounter for your top-notch services. Keep up the great work!

Save The Blank is a tshirt shop where I design 4 tshirts around a particular cause (saving the bees, global warming, etc). Atleast Five dollars from the sale of each shirt gets donated to a charity that best represents the cause. Every few months, I’ll pick a new cause, and design some more tshirts!
I’m completely addicted to statcounter - I check most everyday. I’m just one person, running this shop in my spare time trying to do some good, so I don’t have money to spend on advertising and campaigning. Statcounter allows me to track where people are coming from, so I can pinpoint the best sites/blogs to maintain a watch on, and keep a dialog with my few customers.
Thanks!

Any particular reason why it is online retailers only? Will you consider affiliate/dropship online retail stores as well? Where and how exactly is this interview going to be featured?
Thanks!

I use statcounter to find out where my conversions are coming from. I also use the keyword analysis. Love it. It helps us sell the best personalized wedding accessories on the internet including garters, flutes, and groomsmen gifts.

I also want to thank the StatCounter team for the free and valuable service.
My site is fairly young, and I don’t sell anything yet. StatCounter helps me a lot to learn for the kind of information my visitors are looking for. The keyword analysis is a wonderful help. I check StatCounter a couple of times daily.
Thank you again for the great service.

I check my stats several times daily. Most important to me is knowing where my business comes from. Usually it’s Google so seeing which key words are drawing and how well is vital. Also, link partners bring a lot of traffic and the ability to see which helps. The 2 stats I most frequently check are “recent key word search” and “recent visitor activity”. Knowing how many pages of my site are viewed helps me work toward more visitor interest. StatCounter is a FANTASTIC service offering SO MUCH great site info so well! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
September 7th, 2007 at 2:46 am
I use statcounter to track my t-shirt web site. Using the analytics I can finely tune which of my t-shirts are getting more views and which of my advertising campaigns are getting the most clicks. I can then deactivate the ads and campaigns that aren’t producing results. I can also keep track of which t-shirt designs aren’t getting any views and use that data to trim my inventory. Finally, it allows me to see what pages are more sticky then others, and also which navigation designs are creating bounces or are creating a path to deeper navigation.
And best of all its FREE

What stats do you look at most often and why?
When I log into Statcounter I look first at the visitor path. Mainly to see if certain customers have looked at their specific products. Then I go to recent visitors to see where people have been viewing my site from.visitors come from every corner of the world.
As I have written in the first part. I am able to adjust my Keywords on my site to better meet the searches which places me higher in the search engines thus getting more hits on my site. Without Statcounter I would not have the ability to do this so quickly and easily.
How often do you check your stats? I check Statcounter several times each day to watch the numbers grow. I still get a thrill watching how many times a day people are checking my sites. In just over a year my Ebay items retail website (http://doiop.com/25bucks) has become the best website offering Ebay retail items with keyword targeting.
Our retail business is so successful that we decided to offer $25 for all new subscribers.
Our advertising Scheme is exactly like Adsense. Because of the abilities Statcounter provides I am able to tweek the site on the fly to meet the needs of my Ebay customers who are looking always for odd stuff…
I really made the success of my site by well exploiting the analytical abilities of statcounter.
Thanks to you now i can offer to all my customers $25
September 7th, 2007 at 8:35 pm
We check our stats for http://www.FireplaceMall.com every night just before midnight. That way, we have a the full day’s statistics to compare with other days.
We used to check our stats multiple times a day, but found ourselves getting so involved in them, too much time was going to stat watching! So now we limit ourselves to the once a day review, a treat for a hard day’s work.
We divide our Page Views stat for the day or week or month by our gross for the day, giving us a daily average dollar per page view. That is one statistic we set goals for improving.
Visit Length and Returning Visits we also monitor and set goals for improving. Returning visitors and those who stay longer tend to be buyers instead of just browsers, so keeping visitors engaged and giving them a reason to return are priorities in website design.
Key Word Analysis has been great for us. Our site sells fireplace accessories and chimney caps, products that tend to be seasonal. Which fireplace accessories or chimney supplies are people looking for most at each time of year? With the Key Word Analysis stats, we can keep track of that and make modifications to the home page to capitalize on those variations.
Came From is also a great source of information. For example, when a magazine or newspaper uses information or products from our site for an article, their web versions will have a link to us, giving us important traffic.
We have no other business expense that’s as affordable yet as powerful for helping us run and improve our business as Stat Counter!

Wow, this has been a big year for us! We just opened our new business and it is really taking off! I had used StatCounter before so I KNEW that I wanted to use it on my new site that was launched in July 2007. Based in the Midwest, Birdz and Beez Baby offers custom baby gifts like Diaper Cakes, Candy Bar Favors, Embroidered Gifts, Gift Baskets and Hand Crafted All Natural Bath and Body Products for mom and baby! We love our jobs and our new little company and have had over 1000 hits in the two months that we have been open for business!
I use the Stat that tells me where the visitor is located and the Stat that shows me what the originating page was. I love both of those features. Between those I can tell if my Targeted Marketing Campaigns are working. Thanks to Stat Counter, I knew right away that I had picked the right keywords and they were showing up in the correct geographic areas!
I am pretty obsessive about my Stats! I probably check them about 5 times a day. One of my favorite things is to log on to my profile and see a HUGE jump in hits and they are all recorded by StatCounter!
Based on my site performance as shown to me by StatCounter, I have been able to refine my marketing and spend my money in the absolute best way for my business. I will never use anything other than StatCounter to record my visits!
Thanks for creating an awesome and FREE utility for me to use to grow my business!

I have a large portfolio of websites that all have statcounter installed on them. I could not live without having great stats like it provides. Not only are the stats accurate, but they help my marketing processes because I can tell where the visitors come from and how long they have been there. For a few sites, I have used the browser information in order to design to fit all the sizes of my visitors. I check my stats about 10 times per day to see which marketing efforts are working the best. Not only is statcounter a lifesaver, but it is also free and no one can beat that. If I could have a desktop stats application, I would love it.
One of my sites http://www.theshopdetective.com has statcounter on it and looking at the detailed maps and visitor lengths, I have been able to correctly format the site to optimize visitor retention. I would not have been able to do it without the help of Statcounter. As I design new sites, I make sure and put the tracking code in, so it will make my life easier.

I run a community website based around Derbyshire, England. I would just like to say that Statcounter has helped in the formation and moulding of the website into what it is. Stats are checked several times a day and are proving indespensible in determining the future direction of the website. I know whats popular, what isn’t where the visitors come from, what keywords they are using - All for free.
Keep up the good work Statcounter Team. I’ve been wiith you from the start of my website and have no plans to desert!

Our retail products consist of a number of programs that are focused on public health care here in Silicon Valley, CA, U.S.A.
http://www.VMCFoundation.org
Use of the stat counter tools enabled us to realize that: a) aside from business related works, our clients don’t spend time “reading”, and (b) the time people actually spent on our site was too small.
By using a combination of; Visitor Paths, Visit Length, Recent Visitor Activity, and Recent Pageload Activity we were able to ground our assessments relative to visitor traffic and design new, interactive tools, which have kept more people on the site longer, as well as increased the number of people coming to the site outside of our direct marketing efforts.
I check the stats several times a day on the days that we run marketing campaigns, and several time a week in between.
In closing, the invisible counter is a particular favorite, and it is truly a pleasure to see such dedicated people making a real difference in the world, AND having FUN in the process.
Congratulations and cheers,

Hi, Liz Yasuda here!
I’m based in New York City, U.S.A., and the owner of YasudaStudio.com, a site that I created to market my downloadable vector art, etc. to the world.
Statcounter has helped me tremendously. I can see at a glance the art that interests people the most, and the art that people around the web are searching for. Using Statcounter, I can also tell among other things, if the site has gone down in the middle of the night.
I also use StatCounter with some of my client sites, and it’s great that Statcounter is so easy to understand that I don’t have to explain much to even the least tech-minded among them. I don’t know if it’s too late, but, yes, I would love to be interviewed.
I check my stats at least once a day, but usually more often.
September 22nd, 2007 at 2:36 pm
Have had Statcounter for YEARS and have added it to dozens of clients websites - never knew you had a blog.
September 24th, 2007 at 4:09 pm
I am glad to find statcounter. I want to give it a try.
Over the past 4 yrs, I have used three different hits counters and all of them give different numbers so I am totally confused because I am unable to determine the correct website stats.
The web hosting counter gives one number and the other three counters that I am using give different numbers each.
Hopefully, Statcounter would be the one I am going to rely on.
I shall be back to give you a feedback after a week.
StatCounter Team Response:
Welcome on board!
You should note that your server stats will always be higher than your web stats.
Server stats count all the traffic to your server. StatCounter (and other web trackers) count all the visits to your site.
Your server gets A LOT MORE traffic than your site, because server traffic includes all the visits from robots, spambots, crawlers etc.
When a robot visits your site, this is recorded in your server logs. It’s not a ‘true’ visit though since the page is not fully loaded, so it doesn’t show up in your web stats (e.g your StatCounter stats)
StatCounter often shows higher stats than other providers, as StatCounter counts both javascript and non javascript visitors. Some other packages only count javascript visitors.
If you do have any questions, please feel free to contact our support team using this form.
All the best!

Hello Statcounter!
My site is found at http://www.snow-maker.com, I run an online store where I sell home snowmaking equipment. It is a small company and we don’t have a huge budget for web development and marketing and everything is done in-house which is why free services like Statcounter are so useful.
I check my Statcounter accounts daily. I have a counter on each page including order thank you pages so I can compare the IP addresses and find where my customers came from and what pages they visited before they purchased.
My favorite reports are the keyword reports and recent visitor activity. I used the keyword reports last year to focus my SEO efforts which are already paying huge dividends in increased traffic this fall. I use recent visitor activity to see details about customers right after they purchase.
I also use the recent visitor map from my “thank you” pages to get an idea of where I should focus my paid advertising efforts. I check all of my stats daily, some of them multiple times a day.
Statcounter is awesome, i really appreciate the way you have kept things simple and user friendly (thanks again for the increase in LOG size). Best of luck,
Gregg Blanchard

Our website is a directory of telecom equipment industry dealers and specialists sorted by location. Because of the many different brands and models that our partners offer it is very useful to look at the visitor paths. Stats are stats, but you do a heck of a job of displaying them in a usable and easy way.

I love Statcounter! I really would be lost without it. I check it many times throughout the day to see where the traffic is coming from. I like to look at Recent Came From, Came From, Summary and Keyword Activity. It really helps me to make corrections to how my listings read and where my advertising dollars are working for me, as well as what people are looking for based on the keywords they use.
My name is Terri Scinto. I am the owner of an on-line baby and mom boutique called Mother Earth and Baby. I started my business so I could raise my daughter instead of having Daycare raise her. It has been a lot of work, but also a lot of fun! It’s nice to be able to say I love what I do. There is a lot of competition out there and that’s why I love tools like Statcounter, it helps give me an edge on some of my major competitors.
I would love to speak with you and be chosen for your interview.
Warmest Regards,
Terri

Liqui-Site Designs Inc. is a full-service provider of creative services. Website design and development is our primary business, and StatCounter is included as a recommendation in ALL our client proposals. For the cost (either $9 or $19/mo, etc.), this statistical information is well worth every penny! Obviously, we do not receive any commissions from – nor are we affiliated with – StatCounter, so our belief in this constantly-evolving service is evident. We’ve lost count of the number of clients we’ve set up on your system, and they are all appreciative and blown away by the amount of data available to them! So, StatCounter has enabled us to add a robust, affordable reporting tool to the services we provide for our clients.
We use a log size of 10,000 on our own site and it helps us track Recent Keyword Activity, Recent Came From and Visitor Paths (and more), but these are the three reports we check weekly, and we utilize the automated email stats reports. The stats we view help us to determine how we are being found on the web and which pages of our site potential clients view most (services, testimonials, portfolio pages, etc.)
Feel free to contact me directly, I’m happy to provide personal experience about a brilliant service!

Hi,
We rely on Statcounter in many ways.
Just to mention a few.
For example we breakdown content into pages and drop a Statcounter on them as a project. I can see the customers footprints around estatenoni
I have several sister sites which link both ways. Also SEO (like buying clicks with Google/yahoo) got so expensive lately that the data from logs Statcounter provides helps highlight the abuses and effectiveness.
We used Statcounter free version for several years before we got to where our log info and traffic made it a good move to upgrade.
I hesitate to say Statcounter is great value.
I used that term after a haircut once and the return visit cost more!
One more benifit to us is that we can watch out for orders that clicked in from ip’s that point to a country other then the ship to destination.
For example last week we got a Noni Pill order from Washington when it fact the ip pointed to Ghana! We contacted the billing address name and he was thrilled because he said he had used his credit card at a “dive” restaurant a few nights before and the “smelly” waiter took forever in the back processing the check. He later clicked in and placed an order himself out of gratitude!
In closing: The photos you posted of you tear in the pub made me wonder if you get any work done! Have a sloppy black one for me.
Slainte
P.
Remarks:
If you are in the area of EstateNoni let me know I’ll take you surfing!

* What stats do you look at most often and why?
I look at the recent visitor activity metric most often becacause it tells me how my customers are finding my products, how long they are spending on the sites, and what they are looking at.
* How do the stats help you?
The stats help me decide on product selection, key words.
* How often do you check your stats?
