Accessibility
The KCOM Group is actively working towards increasing the accessibility and usability of its websites for disabled users. In doing so, it is acting in accordance with the Disability Discrimination Act 2005.
Some of our pages from legacy sites, or those developed and maintained by 3rd parties, might not currently conform to these standards.
Access keys
Most browsers support jumping to specific links by typing keys defined on the website. On Windows, you can press ALT + an access key; on Macintosh, you can press Control + an access key.

Standards compliance
- All pages on this site are WCAG AA approved, complying with all priority 1 and 2 guidelines of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. This is a judgement call; many guidelines are intentionally vague and cannot be tested automatically. We have reviewed the guidelines and believe that all pages on this site are in compliance (With the exceptions stated above).
- All pages on this site validate as XHTML 1.0 Transitional.
- All pages on this site use structured semantic markup.
Links
- Many of the links have been given title attributes which describe the link in greater detail, unless the text of the link already describes the target.
Images
- All content images in this site include descriptive
ALT attributes. Purely decorative graphics include null ALT attributes.
- Complex images include
LONGDESC attributes or inline description to explain the significance of each image to non-visual readers.
Visual design
- This site uses cascading style sheets for visual layout.
- This site uses only relative font sizes which are compatible with the user-specified "text size" option in visual browsers.
- If your browser or browsing device does not support stylesheets at all, the content of each page is still readable.
PDF files
Each page that links to a PDF also provides a link to the Adobe website where a free version of Acrobat Reader is available for download.
