FatPort and University of BC Partner for Trial Visitor Access at UBC Campuses

Vancouver, August 21, 2006,

Vancouver, BC - August 22, 2006 - FatPort, a subsidiary of Ignition Point Technologies (TSX;IPN) and the University of British Columbia (UBC) have partnered to execute a one-year trial for guest Internet access on UBC's expansive wireless network. The wireless pilot will enable UBC visitors to access the wireless network through FatPort. In addition, UBC students, staff and faculty will be able to roam onto any of FatPort's 300 plus Canadian hotspot locations in cafes restaurants and hotels.

The FatPort network identifier (or SSID -- fatport) will be broadcast throughout the UBC wireless network and visitors desiring Internet access will simply associate their wireless device with the FatPort network and open their web browser where they will be redirected to a login page.

Time may be purchased via credit card at the login page or by purchasing access codes from UBC IT's Service Centre. FatPort offers economical rate plans ranging from one hour casual usage to a monthly subscription. Any unused time purchased at UBC will be valid at other FatPort hotspots.

"We are very pleased to partner with UBC to enhance the service offerings on the UBC network," states Gary Stahlbrand, VP Sales & Marketing at FatPort. "There are many visitors to the UBC campuses that until now have had the ability to see the UBC network but were unable to gain access. This partnership enables UBC visitors, faculty, staff and students to be more productive when they are away from their home networks."

Scott Owen, Director, Infrastructure for UBC IT commented; "Partnering with FatPort on this trial project makes sense to us. Until now, it has been cumbersome to administer and provide secure access to short-term visitors, such as family, vendor representatives, contractors, and conference and seminar attendees. We wanted to make it easier for them to gain quick Internet access via our wireless network, without overburdening our Support group, and I am very pleased that through our partnership with FatPort, we will be able to do this in a way that benefits the UBC community as a whole. We are excited about being able to extend the network to our faculty, staff and students through FatPort's extensive network of hotspots in the Vancouver area and across Canada."

The trial project will run through the 2006 / 2007 school year and usage data will be used to develop a business model and determine the feasibility of making this available as a long-term service offering.
