Car Hire Stansted Airport
Mini guide to Stansted Airport
With many budget European flights now using this hub, Stansted Airport is ideal for North London or Midlands residents. It receives flights from over a hundred destinations on 40 airlines and serves 14 million passengers a year. The spacious and simple design of the terminal is appealing and Stansted is also considerably less busy than Heathrow and Gatwick. The monorail and smaller size of Stansted make connections simple, and arrivals and departures are situated on the same level of the terminal building.
The airport has several ATMs and exchange bureaux for passenger convenience. The left luggage facility is located near the ATMs and is also where you can inquire after lost property or about terminating flights.
Stansted provides a range of eating options, with a few buffet-style restaurants and two bars in the departure hall, as well as additional services in the arrivals hall. Shopping includes several duty-free shops within the departures hall, where you can produce your boarding card before making purchases. Duty-free concessions are not available when flying within the EU. Shops include Boots (pharmacy), HMV (music) and the Tie Rack, as well as other popular stores.
