October comments:

  • We got you some great links this month, most notably the link on this page: http://www.worlds-biggest-widget-collection.com/my-collection  the site has 26K+ backlinks, 104 .edu backlinks and the page has over 2000 backlinks with 30 .edu's.  Once the link was indexed, it showed up as the #2 link in the yahoo linkdomain command for your site.
  • Also, your presell page: http://www.widget.edu/college-widgets.htm came up in the rankings on one of our searches!  This page should generate you some traffic as well as improved search engine rankings.
  • I'd like to focus on the phrase "brown widgets" as it's #12 and could generate you some real traffic if brought into the top 10.
  • After running our new title tag reports, I noticed that you haven't changed any of your title tags as per our recommendation.  Adding keyword phrases to relevant pages' title tags could really help you rank for those phrases.   See specific recommendations below (under internal title tag report).
  • The new external title tag report shows that you are linking out to some not-so-trusted sites.  It is HIGHLY recommended that you remove these links even risking losing a reciprocal link from that site.
  • SUGGESTION: Your site could use some content.  I recommend adding 10-15 resource articles for Link Bait.  We could use some of your link building hours towards these articles or bill you in addition to the link building.

  • I also see that the phrase "small yellow widgets" was actually searched more than some of the phrases you've been targeting. Since you do offer these types of widgets, I'd recommending creating a new entire page devoted to the "small yellow widgets" and linking every page of your site to that page.

  • I've seen some really great improvement over the past 4 months in rankings at GreenWidgets.com. 
    I'd still like to see us ranked higher for "Brown Widgets" since we're currently at #12, but with some more backlinks aimed at brown-widgets.htm and that should help move that page higher.

  • You're ranked #21 for the allinanchor search, but ranked #9 in the natural results. I think that page is "over optimized" in backlink text (as most people are linking to your site with the phrase "green widgets" and not much a a variety of other phrases. (found this also through looking at the Back Link Text report found below). We'll work on getting more  backlinks with a bit of a variety of text (synonym, related phrases, longer phrases).

This should be a project you should undergo - the effects are way worth it. Get all the title tags optimized as well as the meta tag description and keywords.

  • Most pages were cached in May (report was done on May 15th), except 3 pages are not cached (green-1420.htm, black-321.htm, and red-211.htm). Are these new pages? (code on those pages looks fine, nothing I see blocking those pages from being indexed). We'll check this again in one month.
