Sumo Model 53-1805 by Sportsstuff
38-inch length x 33-inch diameter
The Sumo boat tube is a new, exciting, and challenging freestyle towable that is not connected to the boat. The single rider slides into the Sumo suit and holds on to a grab handle on the end of a 60' rope. The rider can roll 360s from left to right, jump the wakes, steer left and right by moving their arms, or just glide across the water's surface. It's a fast and fun bodysurfing thrill ride. The Sumo boat tube can also be used in the crashing waves as a body surfing tube. This inflatable tube is made by Sporttstuff and is a great add to any inflatable collection. Many agree that this towable is a fun filled adventure.
Not one to take someone elses opinion for fact, we decided to take the Sumo for a ride ourselves. So one sunny day at the lake, this towable was the highlight of our day. At first glance, the Sumo may not look like it would be that much fun. However, looks can be decieving because this tube was a blast. Our first daring soul climbed in the tube and belly flopped into the water like a Sumo wrestler would jump on his opponent. Not only did he get a splash, he got quite a laugh as well. We threw him the tow rope (which does come with the inflatable) and he braced himself for a new adventure. I must say, he looked rather ridiculous, but like he said; he wasn't trying to win a beauty contest, he was there to play in the water. With that in mind, we wanted to make sure he really got the ride he was looking for. Once he figured out how to plane off and ride the wake without getting water in his face and in the tube, he was rocking and rolling. He toughed it out for what seemed like hours to him, but was really more like thirty minutes with several stops to give him the rope again. As he climbed back on board the boat, he had a huge grin on his face. He had obviously enjoyed his ride.
