Pacific LightNet “Wins the Gold” in the American Heart Association’s start! Fit Friendly Program
Pacific LightNet has been recognized by the American Heart Association as Hawaii’s first and only “Fit Friendly” company. Fewer than 400 companies nationwide received this designation in 2007.
Pacific LightNet earned a gold level award in the program which honors organizations that meet specific physical fitness, nutrition, and corporate culture criteria.
Some of the activities for which Pacific LightNet was honored include:
- Forming a weekly Walk at Work group that traverses downtown Honolulu
- Celebrating fitness days such as the “Great American Smokeout” and “Walk at Work Day”
- Designating monthly Sneaker Days to encourage fit friendly footwear at work
- Offering healthy foods and beverages throughout the office and at corporate events
- Sponsoring walk teams in local charity events
