Web Caching
Surfing sites anywhere in the world can seem just like you're surfing
right next door. Normally when you use the web, your browser has to
download data from servers that can be anywhere across the globe. No
matter how fast your own connection is, if the server's own link is slow
or overloaded, your downloads are going to be slow.
A web cache eliminates that problem. Only the first person to download
something has to deal with the slowness of the remote server. Everybody
after that gets to benefit from high-speed access to the cache. The
cache is smart enough to recognize when content has changed, too, and it
will automatically download new content whenever it's available.
If you're a Hawaii OnLine customer, please visit
our browser proxy configuration guide to learn how
you can take advantage of this high-speed web cache.
