Seattle Century Needs Volunteers!

The July 27th Seattle Century Bike Ride is looking for volunteers. BAW is a beneficiary of the ride, so we'd like some of our folks to volunteer to help out. You'll get fed, too.

Le Tour de Fat is Back - August Fun!!

Grab your bike and slip into your alter-ego because New Belgium's philanthropic cycling circus Tour de Fat is coming back to Seattle! Costumes and decorated bikes reign supreme as the participants come for a casual ride, good music, good food and lots of great and varied entertainment, then stay, of course, for the beer (more to follow in another mailing to announce entertainment). Amid the hoopla and fun, Tour de Fat also raises money for the Bicycle Alliance and Bike Works. Admission to the Tour de Fat is free. Tell your friends, mark your calendar, and design your costume (optional… can come as you like!).

WHEN & WHERE IT'S HAPPENING…

When: Saturday, August 2, 2008
Time: 10:00 am - 7:00 pm (gather 10:15 am for 11:00 am bike parade; beer garden opens at 12:00 noon)
Where: Gas Works Park on north Lake Union - 2101 N Northlake Way, Seattle, WA 98103 (next to Burke-Gilman Trail between Meridian Ave N and Densmore Ave N in Wallingford, just east of Fremont)

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS For the Following Shifts and Fun Assignments to make this a success (must be at least 21 yrs old)

7:30am - 10:30am Event set up (12 volunteers needed)
10:30am - 1:00pm  Training and start to sell tickets, check IDs, put on wristbands, pour beer (16 needed - Note: Bike Works recruiting other volunteers to sell merchandise)

3:30pm - 6:00pm  More shifts continue same work as above (16 needed)

Please come and join in to help support the Bike Alliance and Bike Works and have fun in the process.
