Le Printemps is on the to-do list of the majority of men and women who come to Paris for shopping. Situated near the Opéra, this most Parisian of department stores dedicates over 440,000 square feet of floor space to luxury, fashion, glamour, and dream. For the utmost in convenience, a number of other services are at your disposal: hair salon, children's nursery, post office, travel agency, and several restaurants -- Ladurée, Brasserie Flo, La Terrasse, Le Café Littéraire, etc.

Les Galeries Lafayette
Opened in 1896, with a lobby capped by an early-1900s stained-glass cupola classified as a historic monument, Galeries Lafayette is Europe's largest department store. Galeries Lafayette stores offer private-label and designer apparel under such names as Christian Lacroix, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Valentino, and Yves Saint Laurent, while many stores feature restaurants. At the street-level Welcome Desk, you can be told in many languages where you can find this or that in the store, where you can get a taxi back to your hotel, and so on.

Le Bon Marché
At Le Bon Marché (the only department store on the left bank) you will find: accessories, home decoration, beauty, gifts, gourmet food, lingerie, women, men and children's fashions.

BHV: Bazar de l'Hotel de Ville
At the BHV you will find: accessories, home decoration, beauty, gifts, gourmet food, lingerie, women, men and children's fashions.
Less trendy that the other Parisian Department store, but with a larger choice for home decoration.

Branches all over Paris.
Every arrondissement has a couple of these practical stores. The most representative, with its wet fish counter, cheese and charcuterie displays, bread shop and fashion department, is on the Champs-Elysées.
Open generally 8am-8pm Mon-Sat; some branches open till 10pm, (Champs-Elysées until midnight) including Roquette, Commerce, Avenue de Clichy and Opéra.
