Kennetta and Shawn West caught 10 shibi and 2 aku for a super day of fishing
First light and off we go on this day of 15 kph trades going to my old favorite buoy. There we took an ono hit but it came off, then we jigged and caught 2 aku and ran one live. When Scot baited he was hooking big shibi every pass and these folks did great reeling them in. The action was hot today with a few doubles and a triple. Shawn landed a nice 54 pounder, a fun fight on light line. Back in the harbor only Shawn was up for the eyeball eating segment of our day, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

At the appointed hour out we go on this day of 15 kph trades going to my old favorite buoy. Arriving we jigged and caught some small aku and shibi and ran an aku live. When Scot baited he hooked a big shibi and Robert landed a nice one. We jigged a bit more and got a few more aku. When Scot baited again he hooked 2 more big shibi on 60 pound test and Bob reeled in a 47 pounder that gave him a real good fight all the way to the boat. These folks did great today on all these fish, and they knew most of the songs on my playlist too, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

In the clear cool dark out we go on this day of 15 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. At the buoy we jigged and caught some small aku and shibi and ran an aku live. When Scot baited he had a few hits but no hook ups. Then an ono chopped our aku in half and when Scot dropped it he hooked it up and Jeff landed a new year to date record for us with a 47 pound ono. It was a lucky catch as it was chewing on the 600 pound leader. Then we baited and got no hits so we set up and trolled to another buoy. There we baited and hooked a nice shibi and Pat landed a nice 37 pounder. These folks did great today, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

George Bart Peaslee, Sarah DeMello, Micheal Buelsing and George Peaslee caught 1 shibi and 10 aku today for some tuna action
Leaving the pier on time out we go on this day of 15 kph trades going to my old favorite buoy. There we jigged and caught a bunch of small aku and ran 1 live. Eventually a barracuda chopped our aku in half, even with a suicide rig, then it did it again and got away clean. On that note we set up and trolled to another buoy where we jigged and caught 2 aku and ran one live. When Scot baited he got one hit and it was a big shibi that Bart reeled in a 44 pound shibi, a great fight it was. Back in the harbor only Bart and Sarah were bold enough to eat shibi eyeballs without hesitation, I like it, good going you guys did great. Aloha Capt Rusty

The Mostoufi's Negin, Bijon, Farzin, Henry and Anthony Alessandri caught 1 shibi and 2 aku for not much fish but lots of action today
In the dark and away we go with 15 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. Arriving we baited and made a few passes with nothing then when we got a bite it came off. Next pass and we lost one more and then the porpoise showed up, spoiling the party. So we jigged and pulled in at least 6 heads after an intresting fight as the porpoise ate every bit of those fish except the head and the hook. It was like we had them on as they played with their food and cleaning their plate. Finally we managed to get 2 aku and a shibi past the invading hoards of porpoise, these folks did great with what we had today good going, it was a pleasure having you folks aboard. Aloha Capt Rusty

The Dement Family John, Paul and Bruce caught 1 mahi 10 shibi 3 aku and a barracuda for a lot of fun today
Right on time out we go on this day of 15 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. At the buoy we jigged and ran an aku live. When Scot baited he hooked a marlin that jumped once and broke line, bummer. Then we had a steady bite with big shibi every pass, it was great fun. Then we had a good size marlin about 300 pounds eat our live bait and start jumping straight towards the boat, I had to floor it to try and keep some tension on the line but it came off in about 45 seconds, not before it made a few boats move out of its way, bummer. These guys did good today. Aloha Capt Rusty

Jill Kratzke, Brian Zimmer and Doug Hopple caught 1 mahi and one 135 pound ahi for a great day of fishing
By the first glow out we go with 15 kph trades going to my favorite buoy. There we baited and took a mahi bite and Doug landed a nice 20 pounder. Next pass and we hook an ahi and Brian battles this fish for about 45 minutes with a litle help from Scot, on a tiagra 50 with 80 pound test line, and we land it, a fat 135 pounder, a new year to date record for us. We baited a bunch more but nothing came. These guys did a super job on these fish, good going. In the harbor it was Doug that was bold enough to attempt and succede in swallowing an eyeball out of this ahi, good going you guys were a pleasure to have onboard. Aloha Capt Rusty

Like clockwork out we go again with 15 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. There we baited and had a few misses and a few shark bite offs before Scot hooked a couple nice size shibi and Pat and Marty both landed fat ones. We baited a bunch more but nobody came so we jigged. These guys did good reeling in these small shibi and aku and we ran an aku live. When we baited again a shark ate our aku in half, and the the porpois came so we left. Good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

Tash Price, Michele Price, Scott Gossard, Gary Price caught a nice 120 pound marlin 1 ono 3 shibi and 7 aku for a super day of fishing today
In the cool clear gray of dawn out we go with 15 kph trades going to my old favorite buoy. At the buoy we jigged and caught a bunch of small aku and few small shibi and ran an aku live. When Scot baited nothing came so we set up and trolled out side. At 5 miles we took a marlin hit on the corner that screamed out 200 yards of line and then came in nice and easy, and Gary did fast work with some help from Scot in getting this fish to the boat in a hurry, good going. Then we went back to the buoy and baited around but got no takers. On our way in we took an ono hit and Scott landed a nice ono. These folks did great today. Aloha Capt Rusty
