At the appointed hour out we go on this day of 25 kph trades going to my favorite buoy. At 3 miles to go we took a mahi hit in the blind and landed a nice mahi. At the buoy we took a triple small aku and shibi and got all 3. Next pass we hooked a mahi and got it. When we came back with bait Scot hooked 3 nice shibi and we put 2 out of the 3 in the boat. Next pass and Scot gets 2 on and they both join us. Melissa landed a big 32 pounder for our biggest so far this year. Then it was one or 2 each pass with a few mahi trown in for something different. The action was a wild as the ocean was, this was as rough as we go out in, these folks did great on all these fish, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

Then next pass one more hooked up and we landed it. 2 more came aboard before the bite shut off and we jigged and caught 1 small shibi. On the way in we found one more open school but no cooperation from the fish. These guys did great on this rough day of big waves. In the harbor only Nolan and I ate shibi eyeballs, good going. This was the calmest day yet with 10 kph winds going to my favorite buoy. At the buoy we jigged and caught 2 small shibi and ran one live. When Scot baited he had a few hits and misses before he got a nice shibi on and we landed it. A few more passes and we got a double on and got one. Next double and we landed both of them. Then Steven got a 30 pounder on that was snagged in the side and fought like a 50 pounder and landed it. Then some porpoise came around the buoy and the party was over. On our way in we saw some great whale action, with a bouble breach just 100 yards away. These guys did great today and they both were bold enough to eat shibi eyeballs gladly, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

A classic morning of 10 kph trades as we go to my next favorite buoy. Along the way we had a great whale show, Gretchen got what she wanted a shot of a breaching whale. At the buoy we took a double aku and got one. Then we jigged and caught a few small aku and ran one live. Then a mahi came in and Scot baited it but it came off. Then Scot hooked 2 shibi and we got them both. Next pass we had a mahi shibi double but they both unbuttoned. Then Scot got 2 more shibi on and Michael landed a 29 pounder, a great fight. A mahi ate a bait and this one came aboard. When we jigged again Gretchen hooked and landed a nice 10 pound shibi on light line. These folks did great on these fish and were lots of fun to fish with, and Michael's Ipod had a good mix on it too. A great day. Aloha Capt Rusty

On time and out we go on this day of 15 kph trades going to my favorite buoy. Along the way we took a mahi hit in the blind and John landed a big 26 pound mahi. Whales all around and flying fish too. At the buoy we jigged and caught some aku and shibi and ran an aku live. Then we baited but got no hits at all so we set up and trolled to another buoy. There we trolled it and it seemed dead too, so we trolled to the ledge. On the ledge we hooked a 13 pound kawakawa and landed it. These guys did great today, and were fun to fish with. In the harbor only Brian was game to eat a mahi eyeball gladly, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty
