How do I make a claim?
All Claims, other than for Legal expenses, must be notified to;
Claims International Ltd.
0208 680 5142
When calling please quote;
Essential Travel – Scheme number 439
Please have the following information available when contacting the claims department;
What you are claiming for
What level of cover you have
Issue date of policy
If you have lost personal belongings or incurred medical expenses, you will need to contact your claims company on return from holiday. Before calling, ensure that you are covered for what you are claiming for. You cannot claim for lost or stolen baggage if you have taken out a basic policy so it is important that you make sure you have the proper cover in place before starting your journey. You will be sent a claim form to complete, but please note that the claims company will need to prove that you are insured in order to process the claim.
- Make sure you have your policy number and details as these will be required.
- Ensure that you have proof of your loss or medical claim, i.e. police reports or medical bills.
- It is important that you read the terms and conditions of the policy, i.e. some claims companies will not honour a claim if you do not register this within 30 days of returning to this country.
A typical claim is settled within 3 weeks, this is because, with a medical claim the hospitals have yet to forward the invoices or because the claims company is still awaiting further information to complete the claim.
