Constant Contact's Network Systems Engineering team is responsible for the design, deployment, and management of the network, server, and storage infrastructures that support our large production and QA environments. To support our continued growth, we are seeking an intelligent, motivated, and creative Operations Tools Developer. This newly-created position will report to the Manager of Network Systems Engineering.

Responsibilities Include

• Work with Operations staff to identify tools needs. Produce requirements and specifications documenting these needs. Guide tool development through all stages, from specification to delivery and maintenance.
• Develop, implement, and support internal and third-party tools and systems, including monitoring frameworks such as Nagios, OpenNMS, and ZenOSS; system deployment and patching frameworks such as Kickstart, Jumpstart, and Yum.
• Code new operations tools in languages such as PERL, Java, PHP, Python, and/or Ruby.
• Evaluate current operations procedures, recommend and implement tools to increase efficiency and repeatability.

Requirements

• Proven ability to document requirements and implement tools meeting business needs, evaluating third-party tools where appropriate and developing tools internally where required.
• Expert-level knowledge of an operations tooling language, such as PERL, Java, PHP, Python, and Ruby.
• Experience with Linux system administration, including installation, maintenance, and monitoring, including strong exposure to Unix utilities such as sed and awk.
• Experience configuring, monitoring, or managing Cisco or Juniper network infrastructure or EMC storage infrastructure preferred.
• Experience with Java application server environments such as jboss or Websphere preferred.
• Understanding of SQL, including some experience managing Oracle, DB2, or MySQL preferred.
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience in a 24x7 production environment.
