Gail F. Goodman
Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer
A small business expert and visionary, Gail has revolutionized the way that small businesses and organizations can effectively and affordably communicate with their customers, clients, and members. Since taking leadership of Constant Contact in April 1999, she has led the company to more than 200,000 customers worldwide and its initial public offering in October 2007, when common shares of Constant Contact began trading on the NASDAQ Global Market under the symbol "CTCT." Gail was recently honored as the Best Entrepreneur in the 2007 Stevie Awards for Women in Business, while Constant Contact was named number 16 on Entrepreneur Magazine's "Top 50 fastest-growing women-led companies.
A frequent speaker at industry events, Gail develops and tracks best practices in small business success, email marketing, customer communications, and entrepreneurship. Gail is a member of the board of trustees and an executive officer of the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council, a member of the Board of Directors of the ESPC (Email Sender and Provider Coalition), and Chairman of the Board at Constant Contact. She holds a BA degree from The University of Pennsylvania and a MBA degree from Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth.
Ellen M. Brezniak
Vice President, Product Strategy
Ellen has been at Constant Contact® since September 2006, where she oversees the planning and defining of the company's long-term product roadmap. Ellen has more than 25 years of experience within the technology industry, with a strong focus on product strategy and management. She has held numerous executive leadership positions throughout her career, playing a vital role in the growth and expansion of these companies.
Prior to Constant Contact, Ellen was senior vice president of marketing and product management for GetConnected, Inc., where she was responsible for all marketing and product management activities, and vice president of marketing at OutStart, where she helped propel the start-up e-learning software company into a successful and thriving company. She has also held leadership positions at Be Free, Inc., Open Market, Progress Software Corporation, Sybase Inc., Oracle Corporation, and CSC Consulting (Computer Sciences Corporation).
Ellen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Nancie G. Freitas
Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer
Nancie has been at Constant Contact® since December 2005, where she leads the company's overall market positioning and brand strategy. Nancie has more than 20 years of experience working with subscription-based business models, with a heavy focus on the small business sector. She has held numerous leadership positions throughout her career, where she devised and drove the marketing strategies behind several successful new categories and product launches.
Most recently, Nancie ran The Freitas Group, her own direct marketing and media firm. Prior to that, she led the direct marketing services team at Carat Business Technology, where she contributed to the growth and success of several name brands including AOL®, TiVo®, and Microsoft® Live Meeting. She also devised direct marketing strategies for businesses targeting the small businesses audience, including FrontRange Solutions USA Inc. and Covad.
Nancie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing from the University of Massachusetts.
Eric S. Groves
Senior Vice President, Worldwide Strategy & Market Development
Eric has been with Constant Contact® since January 2001 and built the sales and business development departments from the ground up, helping propel Constant Contact's growth to more than 200,000 customers today. In his role, Eric oversees the recruitment, education, and training of small businesses and organizations worldwide. Eric developed Constant Contact’s Power of Relationships Program, an educational outreach program for small businesses, associations, and nonprofits offered globally by Constant Contact via live seminars and online webinars. This program provides small businesses and organizations with a comprehensive foundation on how to build successful, lasting customer relationships. In addition to worldwide strategy and market development, Eric also oversees Constant Contact's charitable program, Cares4Kids™ (www.cares4kids.com).
Eric has more than 20 years of experience building sales, business development, online, and marketing strategies for leading companies. Prior to Constant Contact, Groves was the executive director of Worldwide Sales & Business Development at AltaVista, a provider of search services and technology. He also held leadership positions at iAtlas Corp. InfoUSA® Inc., MFS Communications, SBC Communications (now AT&T), and Citicorp (now Citigroup Inc.) and served on the Board of Directors of LogoWorks (acquired by Hewlett Packard). Eric is a frequent speaker across the country and has addressed thousands of attendees on behalf of the Small Business Administration, US Chamber of Commerce, Association of Small Business Development Centers, and many other industry organizations.
Eric holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Grinnell College and a Master of Business Administration from The University of Iowa.
Thomas C. Howd
Senior Vice President, Customer Operations
Tom has been with Constant Contact® since June 2001, where he oversees the customer lifecycle, including the direct sales, customer support, professional services, and billing organizations. He has more than 20 years of leadership experience in software development and professional services.
Prior to Constant Contact, Tom served as a director at Direct Hit Technologies Inc. (now IAC Search and Media), a provider of search technologies. Before this, he served as director of support and quality assurance of Workgroup Technology Corporation (now SofTech, Inc.), a provider of product data management software. He also held leadership positions in engineering and professional services at Marcam Corporation (now SSA Global Technologies, Inc.), which provides software applications for the manufacturing industry.
Tom holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Computer science from Williams College.
Robert P. Nault
Vice President and General Counsel
Bob joined Constant Contact® in March 2007 and has more than 15 years of executive leadership experience. In his role, he oversees and provides strategic legal counsel for both internal and external business affairs, including corporate governance, business development, contractual agreements, compliance, human resources, and future corporate planning.
Prior to joining Constant Contact, Bob served as senior vice president and general counsel at RSA Security Inc., a publicly-traded provider of e-security technology solutions. Prior to that, he was vice president and general counsel at Med-i-Bank, Inc., a transaction processing software provider, and ON Technology Corporation, an enterprise software company. He also served as senior vice president and general counsel at The Pioneer Group, Inc. and was a member of the corporate department at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP (formerly Hale and Dorr LLP).
Bob holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Rhode Island and a Doctor of Law degree from Boston University School of Law.
Bob Nicoson
Vice President, and Chief Human Resources Officer
Bob joined Constant Contact® in June of 2008 and has more than 25 years of experience in human resources leadership and general management. In his role, he oversees all human resources programs, practices, and policies that govern Constant Contact’s business needs and culture. Bob also drives executive, cross functional team, and management leadership and development; strategic workforce planning and staffing; and compensation, performance management, and recognition and reward systems for the Company.
Prior to joining Constant Contact, Bob served as vice president at Gather Inc. a social networking site for adults. Before Gather Inc., he was the director of human resources and change management consultant at Weston Jesuit School of Theology and the director of human resources and adminstration at CertaLogic Inc. He also held executive leadership positions in global human resources at Scala Business Solutions, The Pioneer Group, Inc., and Lotus Development Corp. (now Lotus Software).
Bob holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana State University.
Dan A. Richards
Vice President, Engineering
Dan has led the engineering and operations teams at Constant Contact® since July 1999. He has been a key contributor to the design, development, and management of Constant Contact's offerings. He also was a pioneer behind offering Constant Contact in a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model to small organizations.
Dan has more than 25 years of development and leadership experience in developing software for all phases of the software development lifecycle. Prior to Constant Contact, he served as a principal developer and vice president of engineering at Segue Software Inc. (now Borland Software Corporation), which specializes in automated testing applications. He has also held leadership positions at Mercury Computer Systems Inc. and Apollo Computer, Inc. (now HP).
Dan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Binghamton University.
Steven R. Wasserman
Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Steve joined Constant Contact® in December 2005, where he oversees the operations and development of finance, accounting, and human resources.
Steve has more than 20 years of corporate finance experience. He has held numerous leadership roles within private and public corporations managing corporate finance, accounting, investor relations, human resources, financial planning, forecasting, and analysis. Most recently, Steve was vice president and chief financial officer for Med-i-Bank, Inc., where he led both its finance and human resource functions. Prior to that, Steve was vice president and chief financial officer at ON Technology Corporation, where he oversaw finance, human resources, and information technology for the publicly-traded international software company. Before his roles at Med-i-Bank and ON Technology, he managed corporate finance, accounting, financial planning, and analysis with several public corporations and firms, including The Pioneer Group, Inc., Gtech Holdings Corporation, and EG&G Inc.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance degree from Babson College.
