The National Musem has been the scene of several important events from the Hungarian history - the massive Neo-Classical building has been built over 150 years ago and it is surrounded by a monument and statues of famous figures of Hungarian science, arts and literature. The halls of the museum permanently host several exhibitions of artifacts, photographs and documents, and periodically also other national treasures, like the Coronation Mantle.
