"Excellent hotel in a developing part of Nottingham...."
We stayed in the Jurys Inn Nottingham for one night this past weekend. The main purpose of the trip was to see a gig that was being played in the city that night, so with advanced notice I managed to get a great rate of £49 per night.
This is a brand new hotel in the south east of Nottingham, about 2 minutes walk to the train & tram stations and about a 10 minute walk to the main city centre.
It is located in what I would call a developing area of Nottingham near the canal. There are a number of bars and restaurants on Canal Street which runs to the north of the hotel, and are about a 5 minute walk away. Apart from that the city centre as a whole is easily accesible by the modern tram system in place which runs north & south through the centre and to the outskirts, very impressive it is too.
As for the hotel itself, it is a very typical Jurys Inn and anybody who has had experience of the Jurys in places like Dublin or Cork will know what to expect.
There is an excellent bar and restaurant on site offering food from 11am-10pm I believe and of course an all you can eat buffet breakfast served from 7am. Although the breakfast is excellent, it is a little expensive at £9.50 and I wouldn't say it is worth the money, but if you do manage to get a decent rate which includes breakfast you won't be disappointed.
We were in room 901 on the 9th floor with excellent views of Nottingham and the surrounding area. The room is standard Jurys, modern with a decent sized bathroom, tv, hairdryer and plenty of storage space for clothes, suitcases etc.
There are no irons/boards in the rooms, but there is a ironing room on the 8th floor, although we did not use this facility on this occasion.
The staff were extremely friendly with an easy check in and check out, and pleasant attentive waiting staff at breakfast.
As for car parking, this is currently available at a local gym for £5 per night, although I did hear whisperings that there should be an underground car park included at some time in the future. Don't quote me on that though!!!! As we arrived by train we didn't utilise the car park facility so I am unable to comment on the pros and cons of this service.
Even with the breakfast we found the hotel to be excellent value especially having managed to get the £49 rate in advance.
All in all a fantastic new and modern hotel in a area which should become even more vibrant in years to come.

"Excellent Value For Money"
Stayed at the recently opened Jury's inn for 2 days in November. I arrived by train so it was great to see the Hotel opposite the Station. There's also a Tram station 200 yards from the hotel, which can take you straight into the heart of the centre in a matter of minutes.
The reception had 4 staff on duty at check in, and were friendly, and welcoming. Rooms were about standard size for a 3 star hotel. As the hotel is new everything was clean and tidy. I was on the 8th floor overlooking a busy road (and a 'Hooters' resturant...) but thanks to the excellent soundprofing on the windows it vas very quiet. There was a bar and resturant on site and both were very good Although £9.50 is to much for breakfast.
Slight disappointment that they charge for Broadband access. £5 1 hour or £10 all day. (At the Citilodge its free) Also there were no biscuits to go with the tea/coffee.
Overall a excellent stay for £60 a night, and i would certainly stay there again. Just a shame about the internet access pricing.
