Thanks to the generosity of staff at Hull Colour Pages, a group of children across the city will have a little more to smile about this Christmas.
Over the last few weeks, staff at the directory publishers have been raising money to buy presents which Father Christmas himself will be delivering. Last Saturday (20.12.08) he made an early appearance at the two children’s wards at Hull Royal Infirmary (HRI) to deliver the gifts.
The team has also delivered presents to Hull City Council’s social services department this week. The staff there will distribute them to children in their care.
Kathryn Lynn, from Hull Colour Pages said: “The team has been busy donating various gifts, toys and money to enable us to buy presents. Thanks to their generosity, those children who may be spending Christmas without their families or in hospital this year will get an extra treat.
“Some of the staff volunteered to dress up as familiar Christmas characters including elves and Mrs Christmas and took the presents to some of the children. Seeing their faces light up as they received their gifts was fantastic.”
Spreading Christmas cheer around the city is just one of the activities the team have been involved in this year. Hull Colour Pages has been supporting other local activities including the Hull comedy festival and the food festival in the summer.
Kathryn continued: “Throughout the year, the team are actively involved in supporting city based events which benefit local people. We are proud to be a part of local life.”
