TSA was established by the Aviation and Transportation Security Act in the wake of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001 to secure our nation's transportation systems.

TSA's Recommended Security Guidelines for Airport Planning, Design and Construction provides 'best practices' guidance on security considerations related to airport construction projects.
