Alaska Sea Kayaking & Alaska Adventure Vacations
Have you ever imagined a place of turquoise blue waters, tidewater and hanging
glacers, islands of protected coves and rugged cliffs teeming with whales and puffins under glorious skies? These visions become reality in Kenai Fjords National Park and Resurrection Bay. The waters abound with marine life. Sea otters casually watch you as they feed on sea urchins and mollusks; adolescent seals follow you curiously as you kayak in silence; pods of orcas glide through the waters as they search for salmon...it's all here wating for you.
This is our home! We are an Alaskan company providing quality paddling experiences since 1996. Sunny Cove practices Leave No Trace ethics and prides itself on respecting the environment. We want our guests to share Alaska with not only their children, but their grandchildren as well. Our excursions have been profiled in National Geographic Adventures, Outside, Backpacker and many others. We have also been featured on the Travel Channel and the Discovery Channel. Our best reviews however come from the happy kayakers who have paddled with us. We look forward to sharing the place we love with you.
sunny cove offers Excursions from three spectacular locations in the seward area:
Lowell Point, Seward
Lowell Point, on Resurrection Bay, is located two miles south of the city of Seward. From its pebbled beaches and glacier vistas we paddle along the shoreline. Here encounters with sea otters, bald eagles and leaping salmon are common. Kayaking options from Lowell Point include three hour and full-day adventures.
Fox Island Wilderness Retreat
Located 14 nautical miles from Seward, Fox Island is a magical mix of temperate rain forest, sculpted cliffs and protected coves. This is a place of abundant beauty and wildlife where puffin and whale sightings are frequent. All Fox Island excursions are offered in conjunction with Kenai Fjord Tours and begin at the Seward Small Boat Harbor. Kayaking options from Fox Island include a paddle/wilderness cruise or a full day paddle option.
Kenai Fjords National Park
Paddle in the midst of 'bergy bits' while watching tidewater glaciers calve. This is an adventurers paradise filled with icebergs, granite walls and abundant wildlife. We offer full-day Grand Day tours into Aialik Bay and three and five day kayak/camping adventures into both Aialik Bay and Northwestern Fjord.
Seward Day Hikes
The Kenai Peninsula is home to some of Alaska's best hiking.
