Kayaking from fox island
Experience our Fox Island wilderness retreat, one of the world's finest sea kayaking locations. Located at the entrance to Resurrection Bay, 14 nautical miles from Seward, Fox Island is a magical mix of temperate rain forest, sculpted cliffs, protected coves and long pebbled beaches. The surrounding waters have abundant marine life including sea lions, sea otters, orcas and whales. Pregrine falcons, bald eagles and puffins are often seen flying above. Sunny Cove Sea Kayaking, in conjuction with Kenai Fjord Tours, offer you several ways to experience Fox Island and the Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge.
Fox island sea kayaking and wildlife cruise combinations
Our exclusive and unique day tours allow you to experience a half-day of sea kayaking combined with a half-day wildlife cruise of Resurrection Bay, the gateway to Kenai Fjords National Park. This combination, with the included salmon buffet, is what we call a perfect day. Secluded coves, bold sea stack formations and waters alive with wildlife await you. Experience for this excursion is not necessary; our professional guides make learning how to paddle a sea kayak fun. This combo is offered twice daily by Sunny Cove and Kenai Fjord Tours and departs from the Seward Small Boat Harbor.
-9 am to 5 pm- Includes a morning wildlife cruise to Fox Island, kayaking instructions and approximately 2.5 hours of kayaking. Your afternoon begins with a salmon bake lunch and is followed by a Kenai Fjords Tours narrated wildlife cruise. -ages 8 and older-

-12:00 pm to 9:30 pm- A short afternoon cruise is followed by a salmon bake lunch on Fox Island. After lunch and a short kayaking instruction session you will explore the shoreline and coves of Fox Island for approximately 3.5 hours. Upon your return to Fox Island a salmon buffet awaits you. After the buffet you will board a Kenai Fjords Tour boat for an evening wildlife cruise of Resurrection Bay. This tour is also available to guests of the Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge on Fox Island. -12 years or older-

Fox Island Sea Kayaking Day Trip
-9:00 am to 6:30 pm - Join us as we explore the Fox Island coastline of sheer ocean cliffs and deep, forest cloaked coves. Optional routes include circumnavigating the island and experiencing the outer coast or exploring the Fox Island spit and the coves of Cape Resurrection. Your route will be chosen at your guides discretion with consideration to wind, waves and the groups abilities. Along the way we'll stop for a stretch and a bakery lunch on one of the cobblestone beaches dotting the coastline. This adventure is designed for the active traveller and while experience is not necessary, you must be in reasonably good shape. This active tour may involve up to 12 miles of paddling. -12 years or older, unless booked as a custom trip-
