This ”monster” wolf-fish was caught outside of Söröya in Northern Norway on 27 June 2007 by Hendrickse Roland from Belgium. It was caught at a depth of 110m and when landed the scales showed 22.840 kg , which is in fact a world record for wolf-fish caught with a rod. The weight was checked and verified by the local police officer Janche Røed. Hendrickse Roland was on a fishing holiday together with some Belgian friends for the third time at Söröya. Living at the Hasvik Hotel they automatically become members of the «Team Hasvik hotell» fishing team and then get access to information about the best fishing spots and expert fishing tips.
The fierce wolffish, with its extremely strong and crushing teeth, was caught on a home-made diamond jig. The original hook was replaced by a Mustad 3549D size 10/0, following the strong advice from the anglers on TeamHasvikHotel.
