Kaunos Tours was founded in 1993 in the small village Dalyan as a small tourist business for car rental, motorbike and cycle rentals.
Since 1995 Kaunos Tours has a franchise with the high standard and quality car rental organisation Europcar. The same year we started to mountain bike tours and explore the direct area around Dalyan.
This resulted in the first map of Dalyan and area, which is now still available in our office and visible in front of our office. Kaunos Tours became a licensend tour operator in 1996. With the well trained staff new tours have been organised such like: Jeep safari, mountainbiking, canyoning and several foreign tour operators started the cooperation.
The first web site of Dalyan has been designed by Kaunos Tours and is on line since 1997. On line bookings for accommodations, airport transfers, car rental and package tours has become real for Dalyan. In the following years the web site has grown into a huge information package about Dalyan on line. The number of activities has grown by the years: relaxing boat cruises, special jeep safaris, road cycle tours, mountain bike tours, trekking, sea kayaking, rent a car with private driver and intensives.

Dalyan is located in an environmentally protected area, which includes the beautiful Köycegiz Lake and Iztuzu beach, used by turtles for egg laying. Kaunos Tours prides itself on organizing its trips and activities in an eco-friendly way, giving full respect for the environment, enjoying it but not damaging it. Over many years we have built up strong relationships with local families and small businesses and as a result we now provide a significant income to some of these people, supporting the local rural economy in new ways.
Licences
Under rulings set by the Turkish government , all travel operators have to obtain a tourism enterprise license, TURSAB. Kaunos Tours has an A-licence for in-coming and outgoing tours the number is 3830. All tours are insured with our special outdoor insurance and public liability insurance up till 500.000 USD.
