Thursdays - Six downtown blocks of Higuera Street, between Osos and Nipomo streets, are lined with Barbecued ribs, freshly picked produce, arts and crafts, and live entertainment ...it's San Luis Obispo's lively Thursday night Farmers' Market -- a street fair and produce market.
January - Enjoy a weekend of wine tasting featuring many of the most outstanding Central Coast Wineries and Artists. The Cambria Art & Wine Festival includes a silent art auction, wine tasting and demonstrating artists throughout the village, and specials at all its shops and restaurants.
January - Experience walks, cruises, workshops, displays and vendor booths in honor of this "Globally Important Bird Area", home or visited by over 200 bird species. The Morro Bay Winter Bird Festival offers over 35 land, ocean and bay field trips and Vendor show.
March - Celebrate the art and entertainment of the movies. The International Film Festival hosts visiting filmmakers to bring the best in Landmark films and contemporary filmmaking to the beauty and hospitality of California's Central Coast.
March - The Paso Robles Vintners and Growers Association hosts this Celebration of Zinfandel. The annual fundraising event is one of the most comprehensive regional Zinfandel events in the country. Event features tastings, gourmet food, seminars, and auctions at participating wineries and local restaurants all weekend. Admission: $50.
April - Hospice du Rhône (HdR) is the largest celebration of Rhône wines in the world and takes place for three days at the Paso Robles Event Center. Events include wine tasting, auction, seminars and meals. Reservations required.
May - Spend Memorial Day Weekend enjoying the Premiere Festival of the Central Coast! See hundreds of Arts and Crafts, Ethnic Food and Games, Entertainment Areas, and Strawberry Treats of every variety.
May - The largest outdoor winetasting in California. Golf Tournament, Winemaker Dinners, Winery Events, Over 150 Paso Robles Wines, Food, and Music.
May - The newest concert venue on the Central Coast, the ""Beach Bowl"" at the Avila Beach Resort, with the best line-up yet... 2004 presented The Keb' Mo' Band, Booker T. Jones and the Debbie Davies Band with Joe Louis. Beer, wine, food available. Admission: $29.50 - $45.00
May - Enjoy the annual California Festival of Beers, celebrating over 100 great beers from SLO county and the state in a beautiful oceanside village. Live music. Fundraiser for local charity. Admission: $35.
June - Make sure to check out this huge annual car show. Vintage classic and hot rods of every description. Celebration of the American automobile with arts & crafts, live music and entertainment, food and fun.
June - Lakeside Wine Tasting & Fine Arts Festival. Discover lakeside wine tasting from over 70 Central Coast wineries. These wineries showcase their wines and the viticultural talents characteristic of this county. Held in conjunction with the Atascadero Art Association, the festival features the works of several local artists from a variety of mediums.
July - Enjoy a free concert in Mission Plaza as the Mozart Festival kicks off over 2 weeks of marvelous music throughout the county. Festival presents an annual summer series of concerts and educational activities of the highest professional standard.
July - If you like wine, the Wine Classic is for you. The Central Coast Wine Classic is a week-long fete centered in Shell Beach, offering wine auctions, winemaker dinners, wine tasting events and gourmet cooking demonstrations. Thanks to the generous support of donors and auction patrons, the Wine Classic is able to provide substantive local grants.
July-August - Shakespeare Under the Stars! There's nothing like sitting under the stars on a balmy Central Coast summer evening, enjoying a picnic dinner and watching Romeo and Juliet in repertory with another favorite romantic comedy, Much Ado About Nothing. Admission: $17.
July-August - Don't miss the California Mid-State Fair, the "Biggest Little Fair Anywhere". Live music, rodeos, bull riding, prize farm animals, arts & crafts displays, live entertainment, carnival rides, rodeos, monster trucks, wine tasting, food and much more at this hugely popular event.
August - Enjoy a festival dedicated to "everything olive". Oils, olive oil tastings, soaps, gourmet foods and much more. Arts & crafts, music and entertainment. Children's Entertainment. Beer & Wine tasting. All held in park in beautiful downtown Paso Robles.
September - Enjoy great music outdoors by the ocean in beautiful Avila Beach. Bring your gourmet snacks and enjoy the great wines available to purchase. Come early to get a great spot and enjoy the ambiance. Admission: $12.
September - This much anticipated event is held annually along Mission Plaza in Downtown San Luis Obispo. During the weekend, dozens of local artists use chalk to paint originals and copies of famous paintings right on the sidewalk. It's free, outdoors, and great for the entire family.
October - Join the fun in downtown Pismo Beach for their annual Clam Festival. A parade on Saturday morning kicks off this annual event. Followed by a carnival, clam dig, music, entertainment, food and our famous Clam Chowder Cook-off. FREE admission.
October - Wine & seafood, fishermen & farmer's market, arts & crafts vendors, and a wide variety of music and professional entertainment. Beer & Wine Tasting. Many harbor related events. Includes Maritime Heritage Pavilion and Sand Sculpture Spectacular. Admission: $7.
October - Scenic wine festival, with wine touring, chats with the wine makers and sampling award winning wines. Enjoy picnics and special dinners at the dozens of participating wineries.
October - Be entertained by your choice of 15 jazz bands in 6 locations and a total of 123 performances for the annual "Jubilee by the Sea". Free transportation, tasty foods at all venues. Clam chowder & Santa Maria style BBQ. Beer & Wine served. Admission: $20-30.
October - ARTS Obispo hosts SLO County's largest visual arts event where nearly 300 artists open their studios to the public during this annual fall event.
November - Celebrate our Harvest Celebration and Live and Silent Auction at the Grand Tasting. The weekend offers a Farmers Market Tour and Progressive Food & Wine Pairing, a Winemakers' Dinner, and a Farmer's Market Food Fair & Cooking Demonstration. Admission: $60.
December - Local Boats decorated with lights for the holiday season and cruise the harbor for your enjoyment after dark. Live Music and Shopping all day!
