The campgrounds that we have listed as you scroll down are those that we recommend in our immediate area and those in which we provide rental camping equipment in addition to kayaks and canoes. They are all on water (Lake Superior) and (Lake Michigamme) except for the Wide Waters campground which is on the Indian River in the Hiawatha National Forest. All of them take reservations and they are recommended especially during the July 10th through August 10th period. For the peak season we recommend obtaining reservations as early as January 1st annually.

Munising

Tourist Park - On Lake Superior and Munising across from Grand Island.

Christmas

Bay Furnace - On Lake Superior adjacent to Grand Island. Hiawatha National Forest. Call 906-387-2512 for more info. The 50 campsites are nicely spaced with picnic table, fire grills, level tent pads and ample parking areas and include both open and wooded sites. Other amenities include fresh water hydrants, vault toilets (which are kept quite clean by the campground hosts), picnic grounds and an expansive sand beach on Lake Superior. Wetmore

Wide Waters- On Federal Highway H-13, 12 miles south of Wetmore. On the beautiful Indian River. Very quiet and secluded . No electricity. Reservations at 877-444-6777.
