School Girl Puts Peppermint Pies to Work for the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children

Since 2004, 11-year-old Abbie has
been baking and selling peppermint
pies to benefit the National Center for
Missing & Exploited Children.

Abbie was looking for a way to support a worthy charity beyond the year-end giving season. Her idea? Bake and sell peppermint pies in and around her hometown.

Abbie began baking and picked the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as the recipient of donations from her cottage industry. It has proven to be a recipe for success. With the support from her family, Abbie has delivered hundreds of pies and raised thousands of dollars to support NCMEC. This socially-conscious entrepreneur has even attracted local media attention.

Honored by Abbie’s support, NCMEC was proud to welcome her and her family for a visit at NCMEC headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia.
