Training Opportunities and Technical Assistance
Training Opportunities
The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) offers
training opportunities for law-enforcement officers, prosecutors, and
educators. These dynamic courses, held at NCMEC’s
Jimmy Ryce Law Enforcement Training Center (JRLETC)and regionally throughout
the United States, enable participants to actively engage with other
professionals, explore model policies, and discover the many resources
available to aid in the investigation and prosecution of cases involving
missing and exploited children. Delivered by a team of certified experts,
NCMEC programs are recognized by state and national accreditation agencies.
The JRLETC has trained professionals from all 50 states, the District
of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, and foreign nations.
Technical Assistance
Technical assistance through the Jimmy Ryce Law Enforcement Training
Center is wide ranging and an integral part of the National Center
for Missing & Exploited Children’s
(NCMEC) efforts to assist communities dedicated to protecting their children.
NCMEC has the ability to send qualified instructors to conferences, workshops,
and training seminars focusing on child-protection issues. Although many
requests come from jurisdictions within the United States, NCMEC has
the ability to provide international assistance in this area. Specialized
assistance to individual departments, educational institutions, medical
facilities, social services, and many other professional agencies is
also offered.
