There is no real way of knowing what Google considers to be problem search results or site areas. A few things we do know that are not neccessarily problems with Google: Keyword Stuffing:
The most often misreported and least understood "spam" with Google. Google's algo is based on PageRank which counts the numbers and quality of inbound links to a page. Thus, keyword stuffing that is prevalant with other search engines, has no major decernable affect on Google. Minor and longer phrases were there are limited results may have some small impact, but not enough to report it as spam. What happens is that the Google spider will often run into pages designed for other search engines. Sometimes those pages are legitimate parts of other se's cloaked or trusted feed programs. Tricky Redirects or Cloaked Pages:
There are so many legitimate uses for pages such as these, it is impossible to deduce whether a page was intended to decieve a search engine, or just part of the normal site. Googlebot is so aggressive at following links and finding obscure pages, that it often runs into things that were not designed with a search engine in mind. Meta refreshes, auto 404's, cloaked language feeds, or browser specific cloaking, can often appear in search results as if it were a problem.

They've said numerous times at conferences that they understand completely where warranted (such as Flash sites). Other times they have said they consider all cloaking bad. Still other times they have said it is on a case by case basis.
As long as you are cloaking in context with quality content, there is nothing that should bother Google at all. Many people have cloaked for several years with Google and never got into a problem. Remember 2 things: - the cached page is there for viewing.
- requesting to stay out of the cache will may harm your rankings. With that in mind, some fun things you can do with cloaking and Google:
- give them more advertisements so that at least when someone views a page out of the Google copy, you get something out of it. (even if it is a stale ad).
- give them more links to follow, and support your friends with more links on the Google page (for PageRank purposes).
- use fewer graphics with Google so that when someone views a page out of the cache, you do not take a bandwidth hit for it.
- add links to Google on the page. Google loves pages that link to Google. To cloak or not to cloak? You make the call. If you really want to know how Google feels about cloaking, view their search results pages in a variety of browsers and compare the source code. If it is good enough for them to cloak and agent deliver, it is good enough for us.

| A: | If you can find zero results in a search of your domain, that is a pretty good indication that your domain has been swept out of the index. You may also use the Google toolbar to check the "pagerank" value of your site. Note the green bar to the left of your listing. If it is blank, there is a chance you may have been banned or penalized. | A: | You can use two specific and one general method: You can use the Google Toolbar for the windows version of Internet Explorer. The page rank value is displayed for each site you visit on the toolbar.

If you have a dialup account with a dynamically assigned IP, logging off and back on may re-enable your view. This Google ad serving system has been in flux for most of 2002 - your mileage may vary.

(eg, google displays up to 10k pages, while Yahoo draws from a few k of those. That can make it appear as though there are two databases at work.)

| A: | In a strict sense, yes. Most all links to your site will help. Additionally, Google does use ODP data as "spider seed". If a site is listed in the ODP then Google will spider it. In the past, it was assumed that an ODP or Yahoo listing would be counted "more" than links from the rest of the net. This was due to some written materials by Google reps that indicated this was part of the system. That does not appear to be true any longer. A link from the ODP does not boost your PageRank value any more than a link from a comparable website.
