The Sooke Region Chamber of Commerce is business people in the Sooke region working together for the economic and social well-being of the community. The Sooke Region takes its name from the T'Sou-ke First Nations people, the first inhabitants of the area. The area's traditional industries have been logging and fishing. Today, tourism has become an important factor in the economy of the region, as increasing numbers of visitors from all over the world discover the south-west beaches and many hiking trails. Sooke offers a number of wonderful Bed & Breakfasts, some of them world renowned. The beaches from Sooke Harbour along the 74 kilometers of Pacific Marine Circle Route, to Port Renfrew, offer a range or spectacular views.
