In recent years, snowboarding has become a popular sport at Whistler Blackcomb.  The sport originated from surfing and skateboarding.  It became an official Olympic sport in 1998.

Snowboards are built from a combination of hardwood and fiberglass.  Boards range in length from 90 to 215 centimeters.

If you have never tried snowboarding, rental equipment and snowboard lessons are available at the resort.
