April 3, 2006

I hope you had a nice weekend. We had some major stoms with threats of tornados. I called Mom and asked if she was alright and she said she was ok. Later on, after the storm, I called her up and made the comment that she must have seen alot of tornados in her lifetime. She replied, "Kieto, I haven't seen that many tornados in my life, but I have seen the destruction they behind thousands of times." I asked, "On TV?" She answered, "No, everytime I visit your house it looks like it's been hit by a tornado!" Don't that beat all?

This weekend, I did do alot of reflecting on my life over the last six years. I mean, as you get older, one of the most precious things you have is your memories. The memories of things you've done and your accomplishments. The memories of the places you've been and the friendships and relationships you've made along the way. These are all part of what makes us tick today.

I've spent a lot of time at the PC over the last six years. I haven't been to alot of places. I haven't done alot of things outside of work. And I haven't met a whole lot of people face to face. However, I can see he work that I've done on the Net and most important, made some wonderful friends from this ezine. Some are still with us, and some are gone. But for the most part, I came up with what I thought was a good summary of the last six years. I am glad you came into my life. I know there's a reason for everything in this life. I started this ezine 6 years ago this month. I had no idea where it was to go, how it was going to work, or even if it was going to work.

Also, a little over six years ago, I didn't even know how to turn a computer on. I turned the monitor on and nothing showed up on the screen. I called my friend Stephanie and told her the "TV" didn't work. She laughed and said, "That's a monitor and the pc was the box along side of it and that need to be turned on as well." Now I'm designing and promoting web sites. And will you just look at the Kitchen Club? It's my best work and I think it is so clean.

Another thing I am grateful for are the friends my Mom has made because of the ezine. She still is pen pals with a few subscribers that have kept in touch. She looks forward to the getting the mail and reading what is going on in their lives. She'll call me when she gets a letter and is just thrilled. Thank you for that.

This Easter Season is a very special time of year. I pray and ask God to Bless you as He has Blessed me. Thank you for subscribing and being a member of my extended family.

Check this site out when you get a chance. Join the Kitchen Club. It's so cool!

I knew Katherine McPhee was going to be in the bottom three. This is what you get when you have this type of voting system. I was in shock, but then again, I knew she would be safe later. I'm more surprised Bucky wasn't in the bottom three and booted out.

According to my grades yesterday, the four lowest were Lisa, Kelly, Bucky and Ace. Two out of four isn't bad. The way the cookie crumbles.

The final 10. Or should I say, Final 9.

Chris Daughtry
Bucky Covington
Taylor Hicks
Elliot Yamin
Ace Young
Paris Bennett
Lisa Tucker Gone
Katherine McPhee
Mandisa
Kelley Pickler

My picks for top 4? Mandissa, Katherine McPhee, Taylor Hicks and Ace Young. But you never know. It's a nutty world. I will tell you this, the thought crossed my mind to never ever watch it again if it was Katherine saying buh bye. hehehe.

March 29, 2006

I watched American Idol as always last night. All did an OK job. I was a bit disappointed at most but hey, what can I say. Katherine McPhee did an excellent job as usual. Right behind her? Taylor Hicks and Mandisa, Here's our grades.

Lisa ... C+ ...Nothing for me.
Kelly ... C ...Nothing for me.
Ace ... B- ... Nothing for me.
Taylor ... A- ... Nothing for me.
Mandisa ... A ... I thought she did well. Judges didn't agree but it had Ziggy clapping.
Chris ... B ... Hard Rock. I guess you can scream flat too. Randy said sharp.
Katherine ... A ... The best. Changing keys and the intervals she hit were right on.
Bucky ... B ... Up a little from last week. Stick with country Bucky.
Paris ... B+ ... Looks like she had fun and did ok.
Elliot Yamin ... A ... He did a good job.

These are just my opinions, however, I think for the night, Katherine McPhee hit the mark.

Now, my grades on the judges and the host.

Randy A
Simon A
Paula B (up from last week.)

Ryan Seacrest.. D This guy is getting on my last nerve. Is he the host, or a judge? The judges give their opinions, and he comes out and like... over rules them. Oh well, the popcorn was good.

I am working on adding a resource directory to YouCantSing.com. You see, although many can't sing and think they can, there is hope. There's vocal lessons, music lessons, and even places there where if they write music, web sites they can go to sell it. You can send a free wacky postcard to your friends too! Three of them are monkeys. They are also the Reality-Check Staff Judges. I am working on renaming them because they want their anonimity. You know how that goes.

First Entry For YouCan'tSing.com

I've been a singer/musician all my life. I play the keyboards, violin, clarinet, sax, flute, and guitar. Playing out in public has been a supplement to my income for the last 30 years. Where I go, I run into people who come up to the piano and say those words, "I'm a singer! Can I sing a song with you?!" And I say, "Sure, what would you like to sing?

"How about a Billy Joel song, "Just The Way You Are?"

They say, "Yea. My favorite."

Then they open their mouth and bada bing, bada boom, out there in never never singland.

So I created this site with the hopes of turning all bad singers in so people will know to either leave right away, or, cover up their ears.

American Idol sure had a lot of people trying out that were stunned and shocked when the judges said what they thought. It's amazing that people have a problem hearing what they really sound like. Even when listening to a recording of themselves.

The first guy who signed up at YouCantSing.com is a friend. His name is John C. from Illinois. He sings flat, sharp and his pitch is somewhat up, down and sideways. When he tries to add vibrato, it sounds like and oncoming train. But he thinks he is right on and sounds like Frank Sinatra. He tells me and everyone else that hears him that we're nuts. What are you going to do?

Let the judges hear him and offer advice. Go to the site and find out what they said. And wait until you see who they are.

Check back for updates and by all means, get your friends on here.
