The battle of the divas is heating up, with the finalists announced for Sunday's WotW (Wigs on the Waterfront) Awards in Auckland.

Leading the nominations are Buckwheat and Karma Chaos, who each feature in four categories. Tess Tickle is up for three awards. Lola, Carmen and Summer, Dallas Vixen, Venus Mantrap and the Finale Girls are finalists in two sections.

Kola is a finalist in both Best Drag Performer and Best MC, while Steven Oates is in the running for both Best MC and Best Non-Drag Performer. Buffy & Bimbo are up for both Best MC and Best Group or Duo.

The sought-after crown of Best Drag Performer will be fought out between Buckwheat, Tess Tickle, Kola, Karma Chaos and Zoe.

Awards organisers say selections from the nominations were carried out by a group of eight independent judges, based on nominations received, support of Wigs on the Waterfront over the years and, most importantly, ongoing support of the GLBT community.

The winner and two runners up in each category will be announced on the night, as well as a Supreme Award and a number of other special acknowledgements.
