Roman Steinberg

STEINBERG, Roman (5. April 1900 Tallinn – 16. April 1928 Tallinn), wrestler. Started wrestling training at the Tallinn Valvaja's sports department, continued at the gymnastics club Sport, and later at Kalev where he was coached by Robert Oksa.

Won bronze at the 1924 Paris Olympics for Greco–Roman wrestling in middleweight (75 kg). Has been Estonian Champion 3 times: 1921 in middleweight, 1922 and 1923 in half–heavyweight (82.5 kg).

Worked as a marine motorman on the Baltic Sea, became ill and died of tuberculosis.
