COMPUTER RESELLER NEWS AND NETSCAPE TO PROVIDE TECHNOLOGY NEWS TO CHANNEL PARTNERS
MANHASSET, NY and MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (November 25, 1996) -- Computer Reseller News (CRN), CMP Media Inc.'s weekly computer industry newspaper, and Netscape Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: NSCP) today announced plans to deliver CRN-branded technology news to Netscape channel partners. CRN will provide a continually updated newsfeed to the Channel Partners section of the Netscape Internet site, the most visited Web site on the Internet. CRN also plans to participate in Netscape's In-Box Direct program, an electronic mail-based news service that delivers personalized news and information to users of Netscape Navigator client software.
In addition, Netscape will become a premier sponsor of "The Intranet Reseller," a new section to be on CRN Online, the Computer Reseller News Internet site. By now offering an industry-leading source for channel news and information, Netscape aims to provide channel partners with added value each time they visit the company's site.
The CRN newsfeed is scheduled to begin by the end of this quarter. Netscape will also provide a link to the CRN home page, where users can find more in-depth information, search archived articles or access to other CMP publications.
